Volkswagen is a German automobile manufacturer. Volkswagen basically caters to the luxury car market. Each automobile produced by this company has its own characteristics and thats what makes this brand different from the rest of the automobile companies in the Indian market.  Besides its automobiles, this company has also been famous for its marketing technique. At first the tag of this company was ‘Aus Liebe Zum Automobile’ which simply meant ‘the love for Automobile’. And now the current marketing campaign of Volkswagen has a tag line ‘Das Auto’ which is the German translation of ‘The Car’. Mahindra Renault Logan in India test drive
Mahindra and Mahindra have been into many joint ventures with other car manufacturers and especially ones looking to stick their necks out in the Indian car scene. The latest one is Ssangyong Motors from China but then, Mahindra and Mahindra have actually acquired it. But then the French manufacturer Renault also holds stakes with Mahindra and this alliance resulted in the birth of the Mahindra Renault Logan in India. Now, I know many would have instant memories of the green Meru cabs roaming your streets however that wasn’t the purpose of the company. The Logan in Europe means a comfortable car for 5 with a cheaper pricing. However that plot seems to have been lost in the Indian context. The [...]

The brand Jaguar is world renowned for its automobiles. No doubt the cars manufactured by Jaguar are associated with the class and the status quo of the owner of the car, because Jaguar basically caters to the rich and famous. This company was initially started by two motorcycle enthusiast Williams Walmsey and Sir William Lyons, as the Swallow Sidecar Company in 1922. Later, they had to change their name because this name ‘Swallow Sidecar’ posed to be a threat after the Second World War. The name was then decided as Jaguar which was the name of the first car ‘SS Jaguar’ manufactured by the company. The company might have changed its name but its position in the market remained the same [...]
