Renault Projects New Diesel Fluence Sedan to Sell Most in Gujarat Market
As French auto manufacturer, Renault re-enters the market with is Fluence sedan, following the end of their partnership with Indian auto maker, Mahindra & Mahindra, they have priced heir diesel version cheaper than the car’s petrol version. The diesel version of the Fluence is priced at Rs.12.99 lakhs, whereas the premium petrol version is priced at Rs.14.4 lakhs. The company, encouraged by Gujarat’s preference towards diesel cars, the company expects that 80 to 85% of sales for its diesel version Fluence will be from Gujarat itself. M&M Records 6.3% Net Profit Growth in Last Quarter
Indian utility manufacturer, Mahindra & Mahindra recently reported increased net profits for quarter ended on March 31, 2011. The company had a net profit of Rs.606 crore or $134mn in comparison to the Rs.570 crore for the same period last year. This is a growth of 6.3%. The company also saw their net profit in the last financial year, increase by 27.5%. The company recorded a net profit of Rs.2,662.1 crore in comparison to the Rs.2,087.8 crore recorded in the financial year before. The company’s gross revenue along with their other income was around Rs.25,896 crore in comparison to Rs.20,595.5 crore recorded the year before; a total of 25.7% growth. A while ago we announced that JLR had opened their first domestic assembly plant in Pune. With the launch of the new plant, the premium auto brand will add 100 new jobs. After the launch of the assembly facility, Ralf Speth, the CEO of JLR had said that India has a huge market potential. They have witnessed significant growth ever since 2009. Because of increasing demand in the market for luxury products as well as a robust Indian economy, they decided it was time to expand their operations in India. Force India Secures 8 Points with Adrian Sutil Finishing 7th in Monaco GP
Indian F1 fans now have something to cheer about. The team recently achieved their best ever season with Adrian Sutil finishing seventh at the Monaco GP, in which five drivers did not manage to complete the race. Sutil produced 8 points for Force India team, after a dismal performance in the previous four races. Meanwhile, his teammate Paul di Resta came in at twelfth position, which was an improvement from grid by three positions. Sutil has started from the fourtheenth position on grid, but managed to enter the top 5, however a bit late after the second pit stop, finishing minutes before lap 71 to drop to the eighth position.
