Force India F1 Racing Team Hopeful about Upcoming Canadian GP

The Force India F1 Racing Team is looking forward to the Canadian GP in Montreal to increase their experience, as the team has been trying to make its mark in racing. The Principal of the Team, Dr. Vijay Mallya, has eyeing the Canadian GP to earn more points, saying that the events which unfolded at the Monaco GP delighted him as Force India earned some points.

He added that it was a great weekend, and his best race of the year, seeing Adrian reach seventh position was a great result for the team following some difficult races. The 6 points which the team received will be significant in the world championship’s battle as the other teams are very competitive.

They have a real challenge on their hands if they wish to catch Sauber, for which they must carry on working hard so as to maintain their lead above Toro Rosso. They have now focused their attention on Montreal, a place where they have traditionally performed well. They are busy developing a lesser downforce spec of their aero platform in their wind tunnel that will hopefully help then win more points. There will also be more slight detail modifications to the model’s bodywork as they aim to get more performance out of it.

Adrian Sutil, who won the 6 points for Force India, is looking forward to his favourite race. He said that he is looking forward to ahead to Montreal again. The city is very beautiful and international, and is definitely one of his preferred races of the year, citing that he thinks everyone enjoys it. He added that because of this, he would have to reach here earlier than usual, so that he can get a glimpse of Montreal as well as get over jet lag.

Sutil further added that though they have always been quick here, he hasn’t had any great results yet in Canada. He had scored a point last year, but would have done much better, if it hadn’t been for the puncture, according to Sutil. He also said that they have great speed in straight line, which will be important in this circuit; however a car with good grip over curbs and stability is also required.

He also thinks that experience is significant in this circuit, as the circuit is bumpy that causes the car to move a lot that requires a special driving style. This circuit is good when overtaking due to a combination of chicanes and straights. Because of having the DRS this year, they think they will have a more interesting race.

Meanwhile, for Paul Di Resta, the Montreal circuit will be a first. He said that this year’s race will be an adventure for him. He has never driven on this circuit, so his priority is to get speed as fast as he can and to study the track. The circuit has many long chicanes and straights, when seen on paper, but you never know it till you drive it.

Nico Hulkenberg was also back in VJM04 as he met the team last week at Cotswold Airport for their first aero test this year. His car was packed with all sorts of instruments and sensors, which will be helpful in recording data that will be helpful to the team to validate numbers generated in the wind tunnel as well as CFD simulations. There will be three more of these tests allowed throughout the remaining season.
