Tata Motors Receive 1,111 Trucks Order from SVLL

Tata Motors announced yesterday that they had bagged an estimated INR 150 crore order for supplying heavy and medium duty trucks to Siddhivinayak Logistics Ltd., a Surat based company.

The Head of Tata Motors Marketing and Sales (M&HCV truck) division, Vinod Sahay said that they will begin delivering their orders from this month onwards, intending to complete it by the time this fiscal year ends. Though the company did not give any details regarding the order’s value, the order is estimated as being around INR 150 crore.

The chief mentor and founder of SSVL, R.C. Baid said commenting on the deal that they had first purchased a Tata vehicle back in 1988, and have been buying their LCVs and M&HCVs ever since. They would like to continue their association with them as well as expand their business with vehicles from Tata Motors. In this situation they decided to place a 1,111 vehicles bulk order.

SVLL is among the biggest fleet owners in India, with a fleet of more than 2,000 CVs. They operate across diverse markets like machinery, chemicals, tractors, cement, and steel along with leading in newer markets like carriers of CV chassis.

They also intend to begin transporting fresh vegetables and fruits via refrigerated containers on the Prima carriers from Tata, according to the company statement.
