The reports suggested that the Manesar plant in Haryana could produce around 3.5-lakh cars per year. Around 8.5-lakh cars yearly are being manufactured currently in the company’s three plants in Gurgaon. According to the report, the company’s MD (Managing Director), Shinzo Nakanishi and R.C. Bhargava (Chairman) had met Narendra Modi (CM of Gujarat) earlier this May and spoken about possibilities of opening up its facility in Gujarat. It is to be noted that Gujarat is the hub for Tata Nano cars produced by Tata Motors. Both Shinzo Nakanishi and Bhargava are hopeful that the finalization of their plant setup and other necessary formalities for their Phase-1 project would be completed in a span of three months and full operation of the plant in another five years.
