Skoda Laura diesel variant comes with Rs.75,000 benefits courtesy its dealers

The dealers of Skoda have taken up matters in their own hands to push the car sales of the manufacturer in the Indian market. The diesel variant of the Skoda Laura, the premium sedan, is now being offered with benefits worth Rs.75,000, an astounding discount in the current scenario. Unfortunately, the offer is only concentrated to the diesel variant with the offer not being extended to its petrol sibling. Consumers who might be having a plan of buying a diesel variant Skoda Laura should make the most of this opportunity immediately. This is because indications are that this offer is not going to be extended beyond December 25th this year.

The Ambition, which is the base variant, gets its power from a TDi 2.0L engine that has been mated to a six-speed manual transmission gearbox. It has been priced at Rs.14.23 Lacs. The top end model of the Laura sedan, which is one of the two models fitted with the automatic transmission gearbox, has been priced at Rs.18.60 Lacs. One should not draw conclusion that the Skoda Laura sedan has not been able to register any sales. However, consumers were a bit sore at the very high price at which the diesel variant has been made available. This aspect has troubled the dealers of the car a lot as their sales outlets continuously witnessed inventory piling up.

However it gets the same TDi 2.0L engine as has been provided to the base model, the only consolation being that the engine gets a tweak for offering a better performance. This is the only way the car maker has been able to justify the enormous difference in pricing between the models. Consequently, the high-end models also score higher on the performance front with maximum power raised to 140Bhp (the base model has 110Bhp power) with excellent peak torque figures of 320Nm.
