Hyundai Elantra sedan could feature in Delhi Auto Expo

The product development team at Hyundai seems to be working full swing as it has developed another new car called the Hyundai Elantra. Previous reports have stated that the auto maker is planning to introduce four new vehicles at the Auto Expo. There are strong indications now that Hyundai could bring in the Fluidic variant of its previously phased out car, the Hyundai Elantra to New Delhi for the 2012 auto show. Only Hyundai will be able to clarify whether this decision had been in plan for quite some time or they suddenly developed this changed thought process about the car. Coming back to the latest Hyundai Elantra, the car appears to be completely different from the one that had been previously available.

Hyundai Elantra sedan could feature in Delhi Auto ExpoThe Elantra is commonly known in international markets as the Hyundai Avante and is expected to be blessed with high-end looks for the consumers. This latest sedan is going to be placed in the premium segment and is expected to give direct competition to the Volkswagen Jetta, Skoda Laura, Toyota Corolla and the likes. All these factors lead to the expectation that the pricing of the Hyundai Elantra could be approximately Rs.13 lacs for its base variant. The global model Hyundai Avante is offered with a 1.6L engine under its hood and has the capacity of generating maximum power of 140Bhp. However, there are strong possibilities that Hyundai is going to launch a diesel variant with 1.6L engine, capable of offering similar power, for its Indian consumers. This is because a car needs to have a diesel variant in order to compete properly in the D-class of Indian auto market.

Hyundai Elantra sedan could feature in Delhi Auto ExpoChances that the diesel engine provided is going to be the 1.6L version, has grown by the fact that Hyundai uses a similar engine to power its Hyundai Verna. The Verna also achieved significant success when its Fluidic design variant was launched. Hyundai hopes that it will be able to repeat history with the latest Hyundai Elantra. The car manufacturer from Korea has not spared any efforts in order to ensure that both the exteriors and interiors of the car exude the required charm to match its identity as a premium segment vehicle. Hence, if everything works out according to plan for the car manufacturer, it is expected that the Hyundai Elantra will feature at the Delhi Auto Expo 2012 along with other Hyundai models including the Veloster sports car, the latest variants of i10 as well as i20 and also a concept SUV for the Indian market.
