Hyundai Elantra Coupe 2013 Unveiled

Hyundai is boasting its fluidic designs with the unveiling of the 2013 Hyundai Elantra Coupe. The Chicago Auto Show witnessed the unveiling of this Coupe, a year after the Sedan version of the Elantra was unveiled. The Hyundai Elantra Sedan showcased the unique ‘fluidic-sculpture’ design language of the Korean carmaker. This was powered by a 1.8L inline four-cylinder engine that churned up to 148hp and generated a torque of 131lbs-ft.

The Honda Civic Coupe and new Ford Focus have more than little to worry for with the unveiling of the new Hyundai Elantra Coupe 2013. This is powered by the same 1.8L inline four-cylinder engine giving the same figure of horses and torque. This power is transferred to the wheels through a six-speed manual transmission. Hyundai claims it gives 29 miles to the gallon in city and 40 miles per gallon on the highway. This is an outstanding figure looking at the design and engine size. Hyundai is giving a Coupe with an eco-friendly image and this might just take the market racing ahead of Civic and Cruze which give 39mpg and 38mpg, respectively.

On the interior, the Elantra is upgraded with light weight material seats, steering wheel audio controls and Bluetooth. A 7-inch screen in the front also includes a Navigation System and 360W amplifier. The higher end models also include iPod integrated stereo, power windows, power lock doors, remoteless key entry and telescopic steering. It appears that Hyundai might just take the market by storm with these high-end features in an eco-friendly Coupe with muscle car appeal. However, India has to wait a while longer to see this on the roads. For now Hyundai plans to launch the Elantra in the US market, in the later half of this year.
