World’s largest BMW showroom opens in Abu Dhabi

BMW has inaugurated its world’s largest showroom in Abu Dhabi earlier this week, investing a sum of $81 million. Spread over a massive 35,000 square metre area, this showroom can house 120 cars, service 80 cars and park 170 cars, all at the same time.

The multi-car show room will showcase cars from BMW, MINI and Rolls Royce. It took 3 years for the Abu Dhabi Motors to build this showroom. They are the official importers of BMW cars. Over 70 cars and 10 motorcycles will find its permanent place in the showroom for the company to showcase its entire line up of different colors and packages. The facility also houses a huge TV screen, cafe, entertainment amenities for children, a mosque and a F1 simulator.

The new showroom was formally inaugurated by Ian Robertson, member of the board of management of BMW AG, responsible for sales and marketing, His Highness Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Advisor and vice-chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, and Arno Husselmann, general manager of Abu Dhabi Motors. Moreover, the BMW Vision Concept was flown all the way for this inauguration.

“The Middle East is an important region for the BMW Group. We sold more vehicles here in 2011 than ever before. There is tremendous future growth potential in many countries in this region and in the United Arab Emirates in particular.” Robertson said.

“The investment in this impressive and unique facility that makes the world’s biggest BMW Group showroom is testament to the continued opportunities that lie ahead in Abu Dhabi and in the region.” Robertson added.

Abu Dhabi is an important market for the German carmaker. And the BMW Car Showroom signifies its success. In 2011, Abu Dhabi Motors sold a total of 4,436 cars from BMW, MINI and Rolls Royce, a 23% increase over 2010.
