GTA Motor Spano: Geneva Motor Show

While Lamborghini version of most uncompromised sportscar is one-of-a-kind machine, the Spanish automaker GTA displayed its Spano supercar, which will be up for grabs by late 2012.

Blended into its monocoque is a unique combination of Titanium, Kevlar and Carbon fiber, giving it an ultra light weight of 1400 kg. Powering the Spano is a massive rear-mounted 8.3-litre V10, pumping up to 840 hp to its rear wheels. Mated to the motor is a seven-speed transmission, propelling the Spano from dead to 100 kmph in just 2.9 seconds, that is 0.2 seconds faster than the fastest Ferrari. Push a little further and you will reach up to 350 kmph.

Keeping the car on the ground is a challenge at that high speed. Taking to the task are rear-mounted wings and electronic suspensions that adjust ride height in accordance with vehicle speed. It requires brutal force to bring to halt all that horsepower, and AP has provided the Spano with carbon-ceramic 15-inch brake discs and six-piston calipers. Forced-air cooling system keeps the disc’s temperatures under control during vigorous braking.
