Maruti Suzuki planning to launch the Swift Sport in India soon

Maruti Suzuki is planning to introduce the Swift Sport in the Indian Automobile Market very soon. The biggest car manufacturer of India is not yet sure if it is going to decide positively on the prospective launch anytime soon. It is definitely working on the path through which the Maruti Swift Sport can be offered to the Indian consumers. This new model of Swift is stronger and much more aggressive in comparison to its predecessors. The new Maruti Swift has a 1.6-litre petrol fuel based engine that is good enough to produce 134 bhp of power and a peak torque of 160 Nm. This fresh entrant has bigger wheels, a body kit that is more aggressive than the previous one, sportier interiors that is something in addition to the many things this new car is equipped with.

When we checked last, the five-door right hand drive variant of the Maruti Swift Sport was being sold at the dealership in Australia for Rs.13.66 lakhs. This particular figure for a hatchback will never be accepted in India as people in India buy hatchbacks mostly for the space, comfort, high mileage and low cost as compared to a sedan or an SUV. The firm knows this fact extremely well and is working its way to Indian automobile market where it wishes to introduce a complete Indian version of the Swift Sport.

The Maruti Swift Sport‘s Indian version will be pumped by either a 1.6-litre M16 from the engine slot of Maruti Suzuki SX4 or the 1.4-litre K14 of the Ertiga. The 1.6-litre engine pumps 104 bhp of power and a peak torque of 145 Nm while the 1.4-litre engine gives out a descent power of 94 bhp at a peak torque of 130 Nm. Both these engines have the similar kind of mountings as the one present in the K12 engine which is settled beneath the bonnet of the petrol variant of Maruti Swift.

Whilst the engine change is one of the most basic things in this new model for the Indian subcontinent, other changes have been introduced as well. This includes a set of stiffer suspension, bigger breaks and body graphics. The Maruti Swift Sport can become the answer to the competition given to the firm by the other automobile companies like the Volkswagen Polo 1.6 and Skoda Fabia 1.6. Maruti Suzuki had displayed an Indian version of the Maruti Swift Sport at the 2012 International Auto Expo in New Delhi this January.
Maruti Suzuki before launching the Swift Sport in India would definitely like to ensure that there is good number of production ready models for the market so it doesn’t get hard-pressed the same way as it is getting right now for the Ertiga.
