Daimler invests Rs 4400 crore for BharatBenz plant

The Mercedes Benz subsidy, Daimler entered India with the name BharatBenz trucks. It recently showcased its fleet of trucks that will do rounds on Indian roads under Daimler India Commercial Vehicles Limited (DICV). For the coming year, the truck manufacturer has announced its plans to offer the entire product portfolio and dominate the Indian market with top-notch quality.

After recent growth in the commercial vehicle segment, several automotive giants have taken a drift to commercial vehicles, and the annual sales figure has topped 800,000 units rising almost twice the number in six years. While India is emerging as the third largest economy in Asia, growth in several segments follows in. With improving infrastructure, Indian market will get more exposure to global brands.

Daimler invests Rs 4400 crore for BharatBenz plant

As almost 65 percent of cargo delivery across the country is done by trucks, there is a great potential for growth in the segment. Apart from several brands entering India, DICV is one of the major brands that can benefit from the current scenario.

Exhibiting its commitment to the Indian market, Daimler trucks India has established a new plant at Oragadam near Chennai. This state-of-the-art facility spreads over an area of 160 hectares and Daimler invested a sum of Rs. 4400 crore into the establishment.
