Volvo S60 Polestar introduced for Rs.1.71 crore

Volvo has been hogging the international limelight recently with the new Volvo S60. The car company has recently launched the steroidal version of the Volvo S60. This latest version is being tagged as the new Volvo S60 Polestar and this has been released with the intentions of snubbing the focus away from the big players like that of the BMW and Mercedes who have both launched their own products recently – the BMW M3 and the Mercedes Benz C63 AMG respectively.

This new version of the Volvo S60 Polestar is going to sport the same 3.0 liter inline six-cylinder petrol engine found in the previous S60 version. However, this model does have an exciting inclusion in the form of the Garret 3171 turbo-chargerinto the engine. As a result of this inclusion, the already hunky powertrain of the S60 just got even meaner. This Volvo brainchild now drives under its hood power equivalent to 508 horses. This generates an equivalent torque of 575 Nm. But all these grand features and performance specifications does come at a price. Hold onto your seats to absorb the staggering Rs 1.71 crore price tag Volvo brings with its latest Polestar version. So in a way, this does beat the competitors BMW and Mercedes Benz, scaling a new high in the pricing department. Now the question is, with this hefty price, even though it is packed with enough features to put to shame a space shuttle, is it enough to take on the brand names of BMW and Mercedes Benz and their products in the same category?

Some of the key modifications that make up the Volvo S60 are in the form of the modified cylinder heads, the inlet manifold and an altered air intake channel. Some changes have also come in onto the combustion chambers and the connecting rods. The car now sports a wicked 3.5 inch stainless steel Ferrita exhaust.
