First Look on the 2015 Audi R8

With rumors of  acompletely new version of Audi R8 (will probably be called 2015 Audi R8) to be rolled out in a few years running rampant in the market, right now the compassionately facelifted 2013 Audi R8 is all we can look forward to.

Although very few things have been made available by the company to be known, the next-gen Audi R8 is being speculated to feature a turbocharged engine. This news has left enthusiasts dreaming about the benefits that come in part and parcel with the boost. Apart from the benefits of the boost, the turbocharger can actually lead to Audi’s success with the forced-fed R18 prototypes at Le Mans.

If only rumors are taken into account for now then you will probably see a few new features under the hood. As per the guesstimation, a V6 turbo-diesel engine might be featured. Chances are high that an iteration of the 3.0L turbo-diesel V-6 engine used in the e-tronSpyder concept might be the one to be featured in the car.

When most of the sports carmakersare looking forward to takingtheir competitors head-on, why should Audi lag behind? The trend that the futuristic supercars are following, chances are there that it might influence the German automaker as well. To be precise, the way in which the Porsche 918 and Acura NSX are heading forward, chances are high that Audi might introduce an AWD Hybrid R8 too because of the fact that the German automaker already has car models with provisions of combustion engine in the rear end and/or electric motor in the front space. The e-tronSpyder concept and the R18 e-tron Quattro are the best examples to justify the last point. Even if the ‘hybrid’ factor gets induced in the car, chances of allowance of large-displacement Lamborghini engines are very thin.
