Arvind Saxena steps down from his post; resigns from Hyundai

Korean carmaker, Hyundai’s Indian domain has experienced the stepping down of an experienced leader. Hyundai Motors India Ltd’s Marketing and Sales Director, Arvind Saxena has reportedly stepped down from his post after he served the company for seven years.

Mr. Saxena stated that he would always cherish the time he spent at HMIL. The company has been open to ideas and he personally has learnt a lot from the time spent at Hyundai Motor India. He added that the company has a strong succession plan in place manned by very capable individuals. He was seen to be optimistic that the people working in the company will certainly take the organization to the next level. The carmaker is yet to announce the name of the replacement of Arvind Saxena.

In fact the company was observed to experience a healthy and steady growth during Arvind’s seven-year reign. The company launched a couple of models in 2005 (Hyundai Sonata Embera and Tucson). Apart from this, the company’s latest launch report includes the name, 2012 Fluidic Sonata. The car will sit on company’s fluidic design philosophy. During Arvind’s tenure, the company cataloged the milestone of exporting the 2,00,000th car overseas.

When Hyundai India’s Managing Director, B S Seo was asked to express his words on Saxena’s resignation, he stated that the company’s association with Arvind has been mutually enriching. He added that Arvind has guided the company through the years and helped the company stay ahead. Finally Seo concluded by wishing him the very best for his future endeavors.

The company’s 15.1% growth in April-September 2005 was an outcome of sales of 77,423 units. Moreover, the company recorded the highest ever domestic sales in 2012 leaving behind India’s largest automaker, Maruti Suzuki. This was the success story of the company during Arvind’s reign.

Presently, the company has eight passenger cars available in the market under its brand name. These are Eon, Santro Xing, i10, i20, Accent, Verna, Sonata and Santa Fe.
