Indian Grand Prix Formula One finally returned to Greater Noida for the second year but this year’s event failed to attract as many racing enthusiasts as it attracted last year. This year’s Formula One also saw less celebrity clamor than the inaugural Grand Prix.

Nevertheless, the event brought superlative motor sporting action for racing enthusiasts.

Red Bull Racing’s two-time world champ Sebastian Vettel staved off the confront from Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso and succeeded in retaining his Indian Grand Prix title by completing a breathtaking race with a 9.4 second lead.

Mark Webber, a teammate of Vettel, grabbed the third position and completed his 4th podium finish of the season.

Vettel also managed to widen the championship title gap with Ferrari’s Alonso from six points to thirteen points.

“Two years and two triumphs here, it’s a very unique Grand Prix; I don’t know what it is about this circuit… This is another positive action (to the title) for us but there is still a long path to go,” Vettel stated after the contest that witnessed the German setting his best ever laptime in the concluding lap.

Overall, Red Bull Racing is now ahead of Ferrari in the constructor’s championship, with a huge gap of 91 points, as three Grand Prix events are still remaining for the end of the season.

HRT F1 Team’s Indian driver Narain Kartikeyan could secure 21st position in the race. Both HRT cars had developed some issues relating to overheating in its brakes. Kartikeyan’s teammate Pedro de la Rosa could not even complete the race.

Banker Uday Kotak added that he was attending owing to his teenage boy’s curiosity and networking was not on his intellect.

Naina Lal Kidwai, HSBC India country head, stated, “It’s a method of having enjoyment with the individuals you do biz with. Obviously, there is a fair amount of business networking.”
