BMW ready to roll out base 320i petrol option

BMW is geared up to roll out a base 320i petrol option to complement the range-topping 328i turbo-petrol saloon.

The base petrol version will be marketed at a price of Rs.28.5 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai) that is approximately Rs.8.5 lakh below the influential and active 328i option.

But, the 320i will miss the boat on some traits as compared to the 328i. On the inner side, the vehicle will boast an altered edition of the iDrive system, and the 8.8-inch widescreen infotainment presentation will be substituted with a slighter 6.5-inch screen. The sound system will comprise a single-CD player together with Aux-in as well as USB potential. The back camera present on the top-end alternative will also be excluded. The Xenon headlamps have also been absented.

BMW and Audi are locked in fight for sales superiority in India. Whereas the marker share of BMW has idled for the last few months, Audi has been posting striking gains in terms of sales expansion even as market situations stay largely critical.

BMW is defending with the aim to defend its prominent place in the Indian market and vehicle like the cheap 320i 3-Series and the forthcoming facelifted X1 crossover will lead BMW’s charge.
