Batmobile sold for $4.6 million under Barrett – Jackson Hammer

Batmobile sold for a whopping amount of $4.6 million at the famous car collector auction. It was the one which was used in 1960s TV series of Batman.

This George Barris design is based on the Lincoln Futura Concept and wowed everyone at 1955 Chicago Motor Show. Barris masterpiece was built in the tight schedule of 15 days with a cost of $15,000.

Convertible- Bat is equipped with some tech fizzed gizmos like a Remote Batcomputer, a Detectoscope, a Bat Ray Projector and a pair of ten feet long parachutes which helps Batman to whiz the vehicle at 180 degree turn points.

Under the black veil, it stores a 390 cubic inch V8 powerhouse which is mated with an automatic transmission giving traction to rear wheels at just the push of a button.

Rick Champagne, an owner of the transport company in Arizona is identified as its proud bidder.

Batmobile is no longer functional since the last 87 years after show ended in 1968. In this so long gap of generations, it now walked the auction stage in Scottsdale (Ariz.).

Barris was much gleamed to sell this Dark Knight because he wanted the whole world to enjoy it instead of some handful onlookers.
