M&M Studying Market for the Introduction of Ssangyong Korando

Mahindra is all set to roll out the Ssangyong Rexton SUV crosswise the nation, but, in different phases.

At the same time, the UV giant is analyzing the market zone with the aim to settle the proper time to introduce the well known product, the Ssangyong Korando compact sport utility vehicle, in the domestic market.

Indian auto giant rolled out the Ssangyong Rexton in the city of Kolkata on 21 Jan with a price label of around Rs.18.73 lakhs to Rs.20.93 lakhs.

Mr. Praveen Shah, Chief Executive of automobile division at M&M stated that they’re figuring out the products. We examined market zone for both Korando and Rexton and settled that Rexton has a position in the country at the present time so that was given main priority.

Mr. Praveen Shah added that the Korando has not been winnowed out for the nation as the firm is analyzing the market for the exact chance. Both the vehicles were exhibited at the Delhi Auto Expo in 2012.

The Mahindra Ssangyong Rexton that is the initial vehicle from M&M’s South Korean division to be sold in the Indian market is expected to be accompanied by the Korando.

The Korando is also likely to be locally fabricated at M&M’s Chakan plant when it is introduced here.

The Ssangyong Rexton is a five-seater compact sport utility vehicle and according to the plan, the vehicle will be placed above Mahindra XUV500.

The Rexton will challenge the Nissan Juke, Hyundai ix35 and the Mitsubishi ASX in international market zones. Brisk exports assisted Ssangyong reverse its trade.

Mr. Shah also stated that the company has already finalized the plan to make an investment of around $900 million on R&D of novel podium for forthcoming vehicles.

During Nov. 2011, the company had got hold of 70% equity stake of the South Korean automobile company, Ssangyong Motor Company at $463 million.
