Suzuki Swift sells over 30 lakhs units worldwide, 13.5 lakh units in India

With the launch of Swift Suzuki Motor Corporation has gained huge success in the hatchback segment. Indian received the vehicle in 2005 and has gained wide appreciation and acceptance ever since. It is interesting to know that Swift’s Indian sales accounts for about 45 percent of the Swift sold globally. The thing that has helped it to gain such a wide acceptance could be attributed to its eye catchy looks, quality and inspired dynamics.

The Swift is still doing great today and Suzuki Swift seemed quite happy to announce that the total global sales for the vehicle have passed 3 million mark just two years after it passed two million mark. Since its launch in the UK it has already sold over 80,000 units and currently accounts for over 36 percent in UK sales.

Maruti Swift has become a global brand that was first revealed in Japan, followed by Hungary, then China, India, Malaysia and Indonesia, and recently it has also started its production in Thailand. The vehicles that are sold in Europe are made at the Suzuki’s Magyar plant in Hungary.

If we look at the global trend about 13 percent of the Suzuki  Swift sales in Japan, 45 percent in India and 23 percent in Europe the other remaining consists of other global markets. Swift has made its presence in the 125 countries and has acclaimed over 67 awards in 26 different countries.

Maruti Swift is available with 3 and 5 door styles with very low ownership costs and CO2 emission of just about 109g/km from its 1.3 DDiS version and about 116kg/km from its 1.2 litre petrol unit. Swift currently holds about 5 star Euro rating and have acclaimed about 4 points for the adult occupant protection.

The distinct style and spacious interiors of theSuzuki Swift has always been complemented with exciting specification. All models comes with ESP, airbags, radio/MP3 player with USB support, central locking with remote, electric front windows and immobilizer as standard equipment.
