India May See Newly Revealed Skoda Octavia Estate

Skoda looks unstoppable with its new Octavia being lined up for this year’s launch, but there are still more to come from the Czech-based carmaker as we heard about its plan of launching eight models in this same calendar alone. That’s not it; the Volkswagen-owned brand is also in a tight schedule to run for every market with name plates being launched in any of them.

To get things out of the cloudy skies, Octavia Estate is revealed by Skoda ahead of Geneva debut. This is one of the most defying attempts by this automaker that tends to be joining the big league, with a big-bang of course. Estate is an only segment that is least explored by any of the carmakers in India, as we had only experienced Fiat Palio, and to an extent Indigo on a remarkable note. There were others too but Tata Estate was the one who was clinching them with its glorified past.

Skoda Estate trim embeds cruise control, new KESSY – keyless start system and the organization’s first ever traffic sign recognition system on major prospect.

Skoda Octavia

Elongated Skoda Octavia may really go strong with India in future, as the young generation is more adaptive towards new products and ergonomics, so as they are getting SUV with same kind of pinning for extra cargo space being derived from foldable second row. Skoda badge is a trusted one so therefore less number of doubts will be clinging to Octavia Estate.

Reaffirming the technical specifications, 140 horsepower from 1.4 liter TSI petrolhead and a 2.0 liter turbodiesel of 150 horsepower are in the engine bay of new offering, while customers will too have a choices of automatic and manual gearboxes, just sounds similar to that ‘soon coming to India’!

Tractions are supplied on the front wheels itself, but if one needs to be done with AWD then more bucks are required to be shelled out, as higher trims don’t go so easy on the pocket. Complementing to those extra mounts of price, AWD system will be designed by Haldex so that its strong MQB platform must not be felt dissatisfied. Length and width are increased by 3.5” and 1.7” respectively, can easily carry 5 adults at a time along with 21 cubic feet of boot space, which can be spared to 61 cubic feet when rear seats are knocked down.

Skoda Octavia Back View

Rapid cues too are borrowed on this station wagon, namely lines at the back clearly portrays it at true stance. Surely getting our hands on it in the next month’s Geneva show, Estate will be delivered by mid of 2014 calendar in Europe while India might have to wait longer, as the same story of late roll-out depicted in every (international) automobiles case with just a recent one of that new Octavia as well.

Pricing and other details (like marketing blue prints) are not yet disclosed with media, but soon expected to be surfaced by the nearing Swiss event.
