As per reports, the country’s biggest auto maker, Maruti Suzuki, on April 25 touched its 52-week high on the stock markets after it registered a better-than anticipated net profit.

The company recorded a net profit of Rs 1150 crore, an increase of 76.9 per cent as compared to the profit posted during the fourth quarterly period of financial year 2012-2013.

Markets forecasters had approximated a net profit of around Rs 703 crore.

Shares of the company remained up by 5 per cent on April 26 to hit Rs 1655 after it reported its income for the fourth quarterly period.

“The augmentation in net profit in the fourth quarterly period was owing to higher sales of novel models like Ertiga, DZire and Swift, cost decrease and localization attempts and the advantage of a favorable exchange rate,” the company said in a declaration.

Net sales for the fourth quarterly period augmented to Rs 13,056 crore, up 13.62% as compared to Rs 11,490 crore during the corresponding period last fiscal.
