2014 jeep grand Cherokee is one of the most promising names for Indian automobile fraternity, and hopefully for the carmaker Fiat too. Going to launch in India by the festive season of October this year, Jeep had started testing its vehicles on our local roads. And undoubtedly there have been numerous spy shots emerged on internet which had stirred a good amount stir for the respective brand. And this time again, one more addition is spruced in the list by IndianAutosBlog.

The spy shot which one can witness on this blog is of the Jeep’s Grand Cherokee.

Fiat is testing two of the Cherokee’s test mules in India. One is the pre-facelift model and the second one is post-facelift which was previewed at Detroit Motor Show. The captured model is the latter badge, as can be easily recognized from its tail lights. However, it is still not clear which of the model will be introduced to us.

Speculations say, despite of being the facelift or the old generation, Grand Cherokee will be mellowed down with UK specific 3.0-liter CRD V6 producing 188bhp and 440Nm of torque. The same engine will also be re-tuned for gaining higher experience of thrills at 247bhp and 570Nm of torque. An 8-speed automatic transmission shall be standard across its entire range.

Fiat will setup different dealership, apart from its existing ones, to sell Jeeps in India, and most probably all of them are slotted to be settled in the metro cities. Wrangler and Cherokee are the names from which the organization will start its operation in here via CBU route, then without much of our knowledge it will bring more of them too. Following the trait of ongoing Indian based local production, we expect Jeep may also see the metals churning in our local industries soon for entering the cost-effective battle.
