Mahindra raises price of entire passenger vehicle and commercial vehicle portfolio

Mahindra the India’s largest SUV maker finally now landed on the fray of rising prices along with the other carmakers. Hence, 2% is the specific amount of the rise that the carmaker had termed on commercial as well passenger vehicles.

Not much of the information is lent on this specific topic, but it is said the higher input costs, devaluation of the rupee and increase in some raw material costs are the factors behind this rise in price tags.

Commenting on the price hike, Pravin Shah, Chief Executive, Automotive Division, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. said, “We have been holding back prices for a while but now it has become necessary to raise them due to increasing input costs, devaluation of the rupee and increase in some raw material costs. As always, Mahindra remains committed to its customers”.

Meanwhile, following are the details/gist of the hike in prices:

  • Price hike of up to 2% across products
  • Models to cost between Rs 6,000 to Rs 20,000 more wef October 1, 2013
  • Increase due to higher input costs, devaluation of the rupee and increase in some raw material costs
