Bentley Mulsanne Shaheen unveiled at 2013 Dubai Motor Show

Bentley “Mulsanne Shaheen”, is the vehicle specifically created for the Middle East market, and was unveiled yesterday to the audience at 2013 Dubai Motor Show.

Hence, the term ‘Shaheen’ is taken as a note of inspiration from the Shaheen eagle: a bird that has impressive prominence amongst the audience of Dubai, as what the Bentley says. Continuing further, Shaheen (eagle) also reflects a lot of contexts in the Middle East culture.

Bentley Mulsanne Shaheen is only the cosmetic makeover of the flagship sedan. The official confirmation of the carmaker says, two tone paint job on exteriors (Tungsten on Onyx paintwork) and tinted glass sunroof marks its exclusivity at a glance. While on interiors, diamond quilted leather trims spawned throughout the whole cabin, iPad picnic tables with a gold overlay, and a Wi Fi hotspot, are the things to talk about. 21-inch alloy wheels and electrically operated bottle cooler completes the Shaheen package exclusively.

6.75 litre V8 engine of Mulsanne churns out 512 PS (505 bhp / 377 KW) and 1020 Nm of torque (752 lb.ft) for Shaheen too. An eight-speed automatic transmission allows it to reach 0-100 km/h in 5.3 seconds alongside a top whack of 296 km/h (184 mph).

Important gist: Mulsanne has achieved 53 percent increase in the Middle East market, over the same period of last year. Hence, Shaheen is just to give the Sheikhs a treat for their overwhelming response.

“The Middle East is the biggest market for our flagship Mulsanne, so this year we really wanted to create a car especially for our customers here,” concluded Geoff Dowding, Regional Director Asia, Middle East & Africa, at the unveiling venue.
