Porsche Macan India Launch by June 2014

Porsche Macan, the name Macan derived from the Indonesian word for Tiger, is now bound to invade India by June 2014. The Macan of Porsche is the compact SUV made by Porsche on the Audi Q5 platform. Despite being so compact in size, the Macan will not arrive with pocket a friendly tag in India, uttered the sources.

Two variants of Macan namely Turbo and Diesel will be launched. Powering to the Macan Turbo comes from a 3.6-litre biturbo petrol engine delivering 405PS and 550Nm of torque. The diesel version will be sourced from the Cayenne and Panamera – the 3.0L diesel mill producing 262PS and 580Nm of torque. Both of them will use the PDK transmission, varied upon the engine specification, the Turbo is found capable to reach 0-100kmph in the time frame of 4.8 seconds with a top speed of 266kmph. The diesel too doesn’t disappoint either; the 0-100kmph drag comes up in 6.3 second with the top whack of 230kmph. Both the cars will have all-wheel drive system. And they are to be brought in India through CBU (completely built up) route only. The Macan is in high demand, across the globe, and the facility at Leipzig in Germany is running in full force (with annual capacity of producing 50,000 units) to deliver the bookings on time.

Though, if it will be launched in India, the number of Macan would be limited during the initial stage for the Indian market, and the high pricing will not barred it from getting sold out.

The competitions that Macan draws for Indian market are against the Audi Q5, BMW X3 and Range Rover Evoque.

Porsche, isn’t a Porsche without added chronicle, the features like Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV Plus), Wheels and Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), Porsche Stability Management (PSM) and Porsche Traction Management (PTM) are engulfed on the Macan to give its owner a unique experience with convergence of sports in the lap of luxury.
