The first undisguised pictures of redesigned 2015 Hyundai Sonata have hit the web straight from the automaker’s factory’s floor. Last week, the Korean automaker had released the teaser image of 2015 Sonata. It will make its public debut at the New York International Auto Show this April. Apparently taken at a Hyundai facility, the pictures unveil the model will have an upscale exterior with a prominent grille, which is flanked by sweptback headlamps. We can also see a sculpted hood and a stylish front bumper. Moving further back, you will find wraparound taillamps and a dramatic roofline.
If you missed last night’s news, the automaker dropped an official sketch of the new Sonata, codenamed LF, while also confirming a launch in South Korea before the end of this month, and a world premiere at New York Auto Show in April. The application of Hyundai’s new ‘Fluidic Sculpture 2.0′ styling theme on the next Sonata translates into a more serious-looking snout with defined lines. It’s worth mentioning that, in some Korean forums, we saw people comparing the LF with Chevrolet Malibu. The South Korean automaker hasn’t divulged any information on the next Sonata’s engine lineup, but for what it’s worth, we have heard rumors of the Koreans replacing the naturally aspirated base 2.4 liter with a smaller displacement turbo.
Hyundai also talks up the new vehicle’s enhanced safety with new seat belt technologies and 7 airbags being mentioned. So, what do you think of the 2015 Hyundai Sonata so far?
