2015 Hyundai Sonata Unveiled at New York Auto Show

2015 Hyundai Sonata, one of the most promising cars for Hyundai in US, unveiled at the 2014 New York Auto Show in an all new avatar, sculpted with its Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design language.

The front remains a prominence of the change with revamped front grille, LEDs and bumpers. The rear fascia too doesn’t go for an exception, tail lamps and a redrawn trunk lid to name the newest. Additional paint options to choose from, and the new alloy wheel designs rounds up the new 2015 Hyundai Sonata package from outer.

Inside the cabin, the interior remains more or less similar to existing generation, but several flaws poses rejuvenation. The tilted telescopic steering wheel and premium seat cloth, LED interior lights, power windows / locks and iPod/USB/AUX/Bluetooth connectivity are just to name on the contrary basis. The major chunk of revamp flicks with the configurable TFT screen mounted in between the gauges playing the host to Hyundai’s latest infotainment system.

The 2015 Hyundai Sonata is bolstered with more steel and so the strength is notched to an additional level. And more importantly, the car is also enhanced by 1.4 inches in length and 1.2 inches in width, along with a 0.4 inch longer wheelbase.

The engine specifications are meant to remain the same. 2.4-liter four-cylinder (185 bhp/241 Nm) and turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder (245 bhp/352 Nm) found doing their job dutifully too on this 2015 Sonata, mated to a six-speed automatic transmission that has a SHIFTRONIC manual shift mode.

The Genesis, Hyundai’s niche car segment brand, is also found playing some cues on the new Sonata.

“We crafted the shape of the 2015 Sonata in the same way an award-winning chef refines his recipe over the years,” said Chris Chapman, chief designer, Hyundai Design North America. “With the 2011 Sonata, Hyundai took the mid-size sedan from a meal to a gourmet dinner. The evolution to Fluidic Sculpture 2.0’s more taut, modern lines reflect the improvements in refinement and driving dynamics for 2015.”
