New Mercedes-Benz C-Class Diesel Launched In India For Rs 39.90 Lakh Ex-Showroom Delhi

Mercedes-Benz C-Class that earlier launched with the new face in India, but only in the petrol trim, is now launched once again in 2015 with the diesel trim for a price of Rs 39.90 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

Given the nomenclature of C 220 CDI, new C-Class shows up in two trim – Style and Avantgarde. Both of them comes powered by a 2.1-litre, four-cylinder diesel engine producing 168bhp and peak torque of 400NM after being paired to a 7-speed automatic transmission, with paddle shifts mounted on steering-wheel. All these said technicalities are enough to clock the max-speed of 233km/h. In the first lot, this entry-level Merc sedan in India will be imported as CBU, followed by the local assembly to commence at Chaken facility near Pune in Maharashtra in the coming months.

Top of the line Avantgarde trim of diesel Mercedes sedan is adorned with panoramic sunroof, LED ambient lighting with three selectable colours, a 8.4-inch high-resolution screen for COMAND infotainment computer, satellite navigation, three-zone auto climate control, Bluetooth, rear view camera, ARTICO leather upholstery, and on the top of all a 13-speaker Burmester audio system dominates them. It has tied rivalry with the likes of Audi A4 and BMW 3-Series.

On the petrol side, this new C-Class is burgeoned with a 2.0-litre mill, peddling 184PS of max power and peak torque of 300Nm, mated to a 7-speed automatic transmission. The launch of C-Class petrol happened in India during November 2014, where it is presently being produced locally at Chakan, and sells for a price of Rs 40.90 lakh.
