New Volvo XC90 India Launch In May 2015

The can of worms opened followed by the launch of Volvo V40 Cross Country in petrol across the nation. Sources spelled Volvo’s new flagship SUV XC90 will see the launch in India by May 2015. Bookings are yet to commence, but prior to the acceptance of orders automaker will showcase the new flagship at an event in Mumbai to raise the bar of excitement.

It’s just a matter of fact buyers will receive it to drive only in September. Two trims of the SUV will go over sales floor – Momentum and Inscription. Latter is a top-end and will turn as the first to see dawn on our shores, followed by the feature-loaded former trim to debut by the year end. Overall, the marketing strategy translates Volvo is in the heap to follow the pattern of top to bottom.

Momentum trim in the list of features gets a 12.3-inch screen in place of instrument cluster. Panoramic sunroof, power-folding third row backrests, rain-sensing wipers, LED headlamps, electrically adjustable driver’s seat inclusive of memory function, and electrically operational tail-gate are other equipments seen on the list.

The Inscription model on its list will receive the 19-speaker Bowers and Wilkins audio system, Nappa leather interiors, wood trims, head-up display, air suspension and ventilated cum heated front seats.

Thus, both trims of XC90 for India will use a 2.0-litre four-cylinder twin-turbo diesel engine. Petrol fed machine may make debut by early 2016 followed by hybrid at a later stage.

Prior to XC90, Volvo has planned to roll-out the standard hatchback variant of V40 Cross Country, and also the T6 petrol variant of S60 in May and June respectively.
