Gautam Singhania Takes To Social Media The Fire Of Yohan’s Porsche

An avid automotive reader would surely remember the incident of Audi R8 that caught fire in 2013, and Gautam Singhania helped the individuals to get out of the car safely before it turned into a carcass. Now, Mr. Singhania had stormed to social media to resolve the Yohan Poonawallah’s Porsche Cayenne case.

Yohan Poonawallah, a Pune based billionaire industrialist, reported his Cayenne burnt to ashes on April 25, 2015, when a fire broke out of the bonnet on the wee hours. Thankfully, no one was injured, but the posh SUV suffered a total loss.

However, the outrage on social media by Mr. Singhani received responses from some likeminded as well. They tweeted about the bad services of Audi and Porsche, which seems such international brands are taking Indian consumers for a ride by providing sub-standard vehicles. On the top of all these, Mr. Anil Reddi, Director of Porsche India, remained the center of attraction to get blamed for irresponsive behavior of the company. Furthermore, he too acted with same arrogance when that incidental fire turned Audi R8 into ashes a couple of years back, recalled the social media trend.

However, the final statement is still not delivered, but the agitation of Gautam Singhania suggested everyone should ban buying these cars unless and until Yohan do not receive the justice. After all, it is a matter of life and death.

The case so far…

Yohan Poonawallah’s Porsche Cayenne Turbo (2011) of black color caught fire on April 26 at 5.40 a.m. when his driver was returning to the home at Breach Candy after dropping some guests at Taj Lands End in Bandra. The SUV erupted flames as soon as it reached Hill Road, Bandra, where some outsiders spotted it and reported to the person in driver’s seat. Fire brigade was called to douse off the flames, the car was then towed to Porsche service centre in Mumbai. It is now more than a month and the company failed to realize the cause. In fact, Yohan Poonawallah also wrote a letter straightly to Anil Reddi, where the as being the director of Porsche India he asked him to wait for his reply in next 48 hours, which the business baron hadn’t received yet. As per to Yohan, the company hadn’t found any expert in the country to investigate the matter.

On the side, Porsche India when contacted replied that they are aware of incident and are in direct touch with the owner; ascertained to take immediate action to find out the root cause of fire soon.
