The all-new 2016 Hyundai Tucson will go on sale in September in United Kingdom, replacing the ix35 in Korean automaker’s lineup. Having retired the original Tucson in 2010 to make way for ix35, the company reversed that decision in the hope of making Tucson an internationally recognized name. Thomas Schmid, Chief Operating Officer at Hyundai Europe said: “The move to Tucson allows us to signify the significant step forward in the product and the design that we have made with this car.”

2016 Hyundai Tucson is 1645mm tall, 1850mm wide, 4475mmg long and gets a wheelbase of 2670mm, making it lower, wider and longer as compared to ix35. It will be offered with five engine choices: three diesel and two petrol, all meeting Euro 6 emission standards. The turbocharged and naturally aspirated 1.6 liter petrol produces 133 horsepower and 174 horsepower respectively. On the other hand, the diesel 1.7 liter engine generates 113 horsepower. The other two versions of 2.0 liter powertrain are available in 134 horsepower and 181 horsepower forms. The engines will be paired with either dual clutch 7-speed, 6-speed automatic or 6-speed manual transmissions.
