Mahindra Thar CRDE Facelift Hits the Market at Rs.8 lakh

The famed Mahindra offroader, the Thar, has received a much needed facelift and has been launched in India at an ex-showroom (Nasik) price of Rs.8,03,000. According to Mahindra, the new Thar is one with “great improvements over its predecessor” and that “all the shortcomings in the previous Thar have been completely removed”. As far as the latter part of this statement is concerned, only time will tell whether Mahindra is right on this count or not.

Coming to the details, the new Thar still carries the old 2.5 liter CRDe that was there in the previous Thar. But that is where probably the similarity between the older Thar and the newer Thar ends. Certain parts of the new Thar looks more evolved and mature in design compared to its older version. The car also sees more use of plastic on its exterior compared to earlier.
