Audi has finally got hold of the pullulating motorsport driver Aditya Patel to be a part of Pro-Handicap e.V. team to compete in the VLN endurance series in Germany. He started his racing career from a local karting competition in the year 2000 at an age of 14 and won it for the first time in his life. He was presented the crown of winner in 2001 in the JKtireJunior National Karting Championship. He continued participatingin the various events of karting and also won many, where he always tends to finish up the podium. In 2005, he participated in single-seater racing in the Formula Maruti or FISSME category where he won one race and went up the podium to collect three on other occasions. Later in that very same year he went ahead to participate in four more races of the premium single-seater category at the Formula LGB and won one title in the end. In 2006, he raced for the NK racing team in the Formula Rolon Chevrolet, which was a huge learning experience for him as he was racing for the team of Narain Karthikeyan.
In 2007 he had a huge opportunity to win races in both Rotax max challenge and Formula Rolon, the very next year he climbed up to the Formula BMW Pacific Championship where he once again reached to the podium to claim his prize. However, after this victory there were few downhill rides for this young driver, but by the end of the motoring season everything fell back to its place and he finished his season on a high at the famous Macau GP.
In 2009, he graduated from the single-seater racing to the salon car racing – credit goes to Volkswagen Polo Cup in Europe. The learning experience from this helped him rise through the ranks to the Volkswagen Scirocco Cup in 2010.
Now coming back to the endurance series, this series will give Aditya an excellent level of exposure in international racing and he will also become the first Indian driver to race in the famous 24 hours race of Nurburgring. The team of Pro-handicap e.V. is indeed a very well experienced lot and is popular for the dependability of their Audi TT which has completed the 24 hours race of Nurburging in all the seven times they participated. Aditya has already made his successful test rounds with the team and will be performing in his first endurance race of four hours.
One of the senior most executives of the Audi commented that their firm has a very diverse and rich history of motorsport in the international scenario where it has built many great moments and enriched the experience of their drivers and team mates. The volume of Indian race car drivers as per the quality required in them for these kinds of events has grown exponentially. The firm now intends to breed and prepare the young racers with the right opportunities to come up with a career in the field of international motorsport. The same goes for Aditya Patel who is a talented driver for sure and will receive the complete support of the firm to be made a living testament to this vision of the firm.
This step by Audi of taking an Indian driver will boost up the budding new drivers of India who wish to make a career out of it but can’t because there aren’t many sponsors to realize their dreams.
