Hyundai i20 N Sport Makes its Global Debut
Hyundai has unveiled a sporty version of its i20 hatchback named the i20 N Sport. This car has been unveiled for the global markets and no news of it being launched anytime soon in India has yet arrived. For those who don’t know, Hyundai N is the new performance brand of Hyundai. The i20 N Sport though will be powered by the same 1.4-liter petrol engine that powers the existing i20 car in the international markets, but the engine has been given an upgrade and now it delivers a peak power of 114bhp instead of the 98.6bhp it delivers in the standard i20s currently being sold around the world. Similarly an increase in torque numbers will also be seen with this engine. Peak torque produced by the i20 N Sport will now 16.3kgm instead of the 13.6kgm that it used to produce earlier. Honda Teases Project 2 & 4 Concept
A partial and obscured picture of a car has been released by Honda that looks like a track based single-seater race car. Since in the teaser image it seems that the car has a cabin less design, many are dubbing it as Honda’s Project 2 & 4, which the company had said would have a cabin less design and the driver would be “exposed to elements”. The entire car could well be showcased at the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show next month. Design of the Project 2 & 4 was result of a competition that was held worldwide by Honda. Two Honda design labs, the motorcycle lab in Asaka and car design studio in Wako, came together to design and develop this car. Nothing much can be made out of the car from the top down image that has been released, but wheels of the car can be seen and also the engine bay can be figured out, which seems to be located at one of the sides of the car. The Project [...]

Base 7-Seater Renault Lodgy RxE Coming Soon!
The response to the Lodgy MPV, which Renault launched earlier this year in India, hasn’t been all too enthusiastic to put it politely. Although the car was launched in eight-seater and seven-seater variants, the seven-seater version was only available in the top end trims. So now to add a little more spice to the existing Lodgy lineup and attract customer attention to the car, Renault is planning to launch a seven-seater base version with an 85PS engine fitted to it. Right now the seven-seater version is only available in the top end trims with 1.5-liter DCi engine capable of producing 110PS peak output. Presently, the difference between the seven and the eight-seater in the RxZ trim is about Rs.30,000. This will remain same in the base RxE trim as well once the seven-seater is introduced in that trim level.

Guwahati High Court Revokes Ban of Sale of Small Cars in Assam
Guwahati High Court has reversed its earlier order of banning small cars in Assam that don’t meet international crash safety standards. In the new order the court has said that cars will have to comply with safety standards set in India by Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) and as long as they meet those requirements they can ply on the roads of Assam. The court issued the order after admitting a PIL filed by SIAM which challenged Assam state transport department’s move to ban these cars. The new order would bring much relief to carmakers like Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai. Earlier the court had banned sale of all cars and quadricycles under 1500kg that didn’t meet international standard of crash safety. The ban was imposed keeping in mind the hilly and mountainous terrain of the state. Following the ban sale of cars in this category fell as much as by 60 percent in the state. Worst hit were [...]
