Seven New Models from BMW in the Offing
In order to take on its rivals in the Indian market, BMW is now planning to adopt a more aggressive approach with the introduction of seven new models this year. The company had already launched the i8 in the country, which was incidentally its first hybrid in the country. But the German automaker is going to stop there. The automaker is now planning to bring in its 1, 3 and 5 series facelifts as well as X5M, X6M and its ultra-premium segment 7 Series. Apart from these 6 cars, BMW may also bring in its 2016 X1 in India this year itself. As it can be seen, apart from the M Series of cars, other would be merely upgraded versions of their previous avatars. The extent of upgradation that would be seen in these cars is still unknown. Lamborghini Urus SUV Coming Soon
Lamborghini is giving final shape to its much touted SUV Urus and it seems the company will launch the car somewhere around 2018. This was confirmed by Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winklemann who also said that the company is planning more than one special editions of the SUV which would include a Superveloce variant. According to the CEO, the Urus would initially be a family car where comfort would be given top most priority without compromising on signature Lamborghini speed and performance. The production version of the Lamborghini would retain the appearance of the Urus concept, while on the inside the car would be somewhat different. Maruti NEXA Premium Showrooms Coming to Mumbai
Just a couple of days back we told you about the lunch of NEXA premium showrooms by Maruti and now as part of its expansion plan, the company is going to open a couple of those in Mumbai in the coming months. The NEXA chain of showrooms is Maruti’s attempt to carve a niche out for itself when it comes to customer buying experience. The company plans to open 100 of these showrooms all across the country in the coming 6-8 months. 30 of these will made operational soon. It seems German automaker Porsche is all set to join the ranks of Tesla when it unveils its first all electric model at the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show. In all probability the car will be named Pajun and will share some similarities with the Audi A6 in terms of look and overall appearance. But underneath its body, the Pajun will be more similar to the R8 e-tron. It is likely that the Pajun will carry a setup similar to the e-tron where the car may have a similar 92kWh battery combined with an electric motor which will be capable of doling out a peak output of something around 456bhp and a max torque of 920Nm. This first all electric venture of Porsche is expected to hit the production lines in the year 2019 at the earliest.

Tevor Mann, Nissan’s executive Vice President, has revealed that the next-gen Micra will be bigger in size and will come with a lot many premium features. Although he did not specify what all premium features the car will come with, it is expected that the new Micra will have a highly upgraded cabin along with other new features. As far as under the hood upgrades are concerned, not much is expected on that front. The new Micra is expected to carry the same powertrain as the current one. It is also being said that the design philosophy of the car will be greatly influenced by the Nissan Sway concept. The car will be produced in India at Nissan-Renault’s plant just outside Chennai and will be sold across the world.
