BMW sues Saab claiming $3.2 million over unpaid parts

BMW has always made headlines, be it with its new launches or with upgraded technologies. This time the Bavarian automaker came in the light for the filing of a lawsuit. The company has been reported to have sued Sweden-based Saab Automobiles Parts AB. As per BMW, Saab Automobile Parts AB’s former unit owes it 2.6 million Euros (around 3.2 million USD). It wasn’t just the principle sum. The company also owes interest for the parts that were delivered but not paid for.

The Bavarian manufacturer agreed to provide the Swedish company with a 4-cylinder engine around a couple of years back. The engine was supposed to be the heart of the next 9-3. Both the companies signed an agreement in which the BMW agreed to provide unspecified number of engines and spare parts. The next 9-3 was stopped at an incipient stage and the engines were not shipped, but the German auto giant reportedly shipped the spare parts and not paid for.

But Saab Automobile Parts AB has something else to say. The Swedish company claims that it doesn’t even owe a single cent to the automaker.Well! At least as per the statements from Saab Automobile Parts AB officials, it seems so. Lennart Stahl, the Chief Executive of Saab Automobile Parts AB said, “”Saab Automobile Parts AB have not ordered or received any spare parts or components from BMW”. He further added, “Why would a spare part company order components for a car model that’s not yet in production?”

It is yet to be known when the former initiated the procedure of suing Saab Automobile Parts AB, and when the verdict is being expected to be delivered by the Swedish court.
