Seeing the tremendous response that its newly launched XUV500 has garnered, Mahindra and Mahindra have decided to stop the bookings for this SUV for some time. The current production capacity of Mahindra is of 1500 SUVs every month while the bookings have already crossed the 8k mark within 10 days of launch of this vehicle. As of now, this can be called as one of the biggest bookings which has happened in recent times, especially given the price point wherein the XUV500 has been pegged at.
Mahindra’s current policy is to expedite the backlog and then start the bookings again. As of now, there is no concrete word on when the bookings would restart for this SUV. The Mahindra XUV500 is currently available only in Pune, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Delhi and Chennai. Mahindra don’t have any plans of immediately launching this vehicle in other states.
