Mahindra and Mahindra Limited has been a household name since the time they used to manufacture tractors for our desi farmers. They have always been associated with heavy and bulkier vehicles. Initially they used to manufacture tractors, later on they started manufacturing pickup trucks and finally SUVs in India. They have been quite famous then (not that they were not famous before that). If you have read our ‘gallery article’ about Mahindra and Mahindra then you might have grasped a thing or two about this company. So, I won’t go any further in the history of this company nor we talk about the company’s future but we will surely talk about the best offerings of this company in our (Indian) automobile market. There are many vehicles produced by this company but the only three vehicles which managed to get their name inscripted on our list are Mahindra Bolero, Mahindra Scorpio and Mahindra Xylo. To start with I have laid Mahindra Bolero undressed in front of you.
Mahindra Bolero
It’s almost impossible to track the exact date of Mahindra Bolero’s launch in India market. Though I might not be able to tell you the exact date of its launch in India but I can with guarantee say that this ‘bigger than SUV vehicle’ has been the best seller for quite a long time. There were time of tears and joy in the history of this vehicle. Few years ago there was news floating every corner of this country as well as internet, that this vehicle will be discontinued by the company. But the love is more tragical than the tragedy itself (no it’s not a proverb I just made one) and the love for this vehicle brought it all the way back to the Indian market and now it feels that this vehicle has never been away from us. Ok I spoke enough of rubbish. It’s one of the machines according to me which is built to be bullied. Throw any challenge in front of it and it will pass each of them with flying colours. That is what I like about this SUV the most. Rest the engine is powerful. Its off-road capability is amazing. The problem with this SUV comes when we talk about the comfort of the passengers and driver.

Mahindra Scorpio
After the success of Mahindra Bolero, Mahindra and Mahindra felt the need to introduce a new vehicle in the Indian market. After much dedicated thought to the needs of Indian masses, Mahindra Automobiles added a new SUV under their shed. This new vehicle was christened as Mahindra Scorpio. This name was offered to the vehicle because of its massive and bulky looks. After the release of this vehicle in the year 2002, this SUV instantly become a heartthrob of many Indians. But what was so special about this SUV? The answer was hidden under its powerful CRDe engine. The pickup of this vehicle is amazing, the space provided inside offers a comfortable seating of eight adults and there are many more features besides those two. Besides the performance, (I beg your pardon to go a bit off track) one of the features which incline people towards it is its excellent dealership across India.

Mahindra Xylo
With the tagline ‘happy legs’, this SUV was launched in the year 2009 by Brand Ambassador Atul Kasbekar, the all so famous fashion photographer. This was one of the prime tricks that were involved in the sales aspect of this vehicle. This MUV offers a great cabin space and as the tagline says Happy Legs, it does offer you with a greater leg room. It was basically manufactured keeping the needs of a common man of India. The company said that this MUV is intended to give you peace wherever you go even on a busy road or even when you are stuck in the traffic. The engine used in this MUV is much more robust. This engine produces a great performance and maybe this is the prime reason of it being hugely popular under the MUV category in India.
