BMW Pininfarina reveals Gran Lusso Coupe Concept

The BMW group and Pininfarina have unveiled some teaser images of the new Gran Lusso Coupe ahead of its global revelation at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este 2013, a yearly classic car event that is organized in Italy. The BMW group said that the vehicle is the sequel to the new intuition that was revealed at the last year’s Concorso through BMW Zagato Concept. And in endeavor for new innovation and technology company has been in touch with other design studios. This allowed the company to build a vehicle that is based on the merging of the two different design approaches. Mercedes Benz GLA Concept had been unveiled at 2013 Shanghai Auto Show recently, and since then it is on the verge of hype due to the lacking of product in that particular segment, which is now booming at in incredible rate in India as well abroad. CBEC officials raids BMW India’s Chennai facility

German luxury car manufacturer BMW India may be forwarded a notice in order to pay a penalty of around Rs 650 crore by the Central Board of Excise and Customs (CBEC) for escaping customs duty of around Rs 500 crore.
Recently, the German car manufacturer’s facility in the city of Chennai was probed by the tax functionaries in this regard.
The tax group thinks that the auto giant imported vehicles via semi-knocked down (SKD) way and paid full fledge tarrifs for completely-knocked down (CKD) vehicles.
The custom duty for SKD path remains at 30% whilst for CKD way, it stays at 10%.

Audi zooms past BMW as top player in Indian luxury vehicle segment

Audi has turned out to be the number one luxury vehicle seller in the Indian market as it has overpowered its competitor BMW with the aim to gain control in one of the globe’s most hopeful market.
The headship for German manufacturer comes in a period of 12 months of its edging past Mercedes Benz, the other associate German company.
BMW sold around 1,410 vehicle units during the initial quarterly period of this year (January-March 2013), a downslope of 40 per cent as compared to the 2,369 vehicle units it sold during the corresponding period of 2012.
Audi sold approximately 2,616 vehicle units during the corresponding period at an augmentation of 15 per cent as against the 2,269 vehicle [...]
