The new Abarth Punto Evo has been launched by Fiat here in India and the company has priced it at a fairly competitive Rs.9.95 lakh. One of the very limited performance hatchbacks available today, the car will be taking on the Volkswagen Polo GT TSI and the Ford Figo automatic edition in the markets here in India. The car is powered by a 1.4 litre T-Jet engine from Fiat which delivers 145bhp in terms of power as well as 212Nm in terms of torque. The Abarth Punto Evo will be launched by Fiat on 19th October here in India. This will make the car the first “affordable performance hatchback” in the nation. The Punto is to be sold with the Abarth badge only like the Abarth 595 and the Abarth Scorpion will be replacing the Fiat logo on the car as well. Fiat is getting all set to launch its Egea sedan next month and the car has just been spotted without camouflage for the first time giving more insight into the looks of the car. The 2015 Istanbul Motor Show saw the revealing of the Aegea, which is the four-door sedan from Fiat and news is now coming in that Fiat will be renaming it before the official launch. The company had already hinted at the show that they would be giving a new name to car once the launch was closer and have now confirmed that indeed it will be referred to as the “Egea”, that is, without the “A” in its name. Upcoming Sport Pickup Teased by Fiat
Fiat is coming out with a sport utility pickup which is being called the “Toro” and the company has teased the car before an official launch. The vehicle is a ‘cross-breed’ of sorts as it is said to bring together the characteristics and strengths of a truck and combine it with the driveability that comes with an SUV.
