The time when the Lok Sabha Elections of 2014 brought the Narendra Modi as new Prime Minister to India, automakers reported errant sales in the month. But suddenly out of the surprise Ford India came up with astonishing sales numbers for the month of May 2014. Reported to have sold 12,288 vehicles in combined domestic wholesales and exports, it surged a more than double fold compared to the 5,993 units sold in the corresponding period last year. Domestic sales stood at 6,053 vehicles in May, up 51 percent from 4,002 vehicles. Ford Develops Steering System For Larger Vehicles
Ford is enhancing vehicle maneuverability at lower speeds for its bigger vehicles. The OEM will be introducing an adaptive steering system, consisting of a gearing system and electric motor, which can add to or subtract from a driver’s steering inputs. The technology, designed and engineered in collaboration with Tier One Takata, will be used in cars including the Edge crossover and the D-segment S-Max MPV from next year. Ford is creating a new, modern training centre on its existing site in Daventry, Northamptonshire, as a part of multi-million pound investment. The all-new site will combine the capabilities of two existing Ford colleges – the Technical Training Centre situated separately at Daventry and the Henry Ford College in Loughborough that offers training for management, sales staff and technicians throughout its national dealer network.
