Ford Assembles Mustang GT Convertible On The Top Of World’s Tallest Building

The reason is unknown why every automaker wants to please Dubai on their remarkable anniversaries. One such example after the Aston Martin airlifted its Vanquish on Burj Al Arab hotel helipad, now it’s Ford that assembled the latest-gen Mustang GT Convertible on the 112th floor of Burj Khalifa, world’s tallest building.

In 1965 when the Blue Oval logoed company unveiled its Mustang Convertible for the first time, the event was held on top of Empire State Building, which was world’s tallest at that time. But now the automaker once again has made the mark by adapting to the Burj Al Khalifa.

Six Ford engineers took the charge of assembling Mustang GT Convertible from the pieces to a whole car.  Hence, such an excitement by Ford was done as a part of the promotional strategy as the company is bound to launch 25 of its models in the Middle East and Africa by 2016 where Mustang is also one.

Upcoming Hatchback Launches In India 2015

Hatchbacks marked significance importance in lending a giant leap to the automotive horizon of India. Since the bridging gap of price between SUVs/compact SUVs and premium hatchbacks taken the tug of war on front foot, the latter segment has turned a bit sour on the part of excitement that used to be delivered during those earlier days. The expected hatchback launches of 2015, inclusive of compact and premium both, will give an insight whether the other segments like entry-level sedan and those SUVs/compact SUVs will bite in more than they are needed. Or the compact would stretch farer than they deserve to. Scroll down to spill the beans…

Tata Nano Twist Active

Tata Nano “Twist” was the major change to the world’s cheapest car after its launch, but another leap to it is expected to arrive soon as the sales results is showing no remorse for the changes made and investment pumped. Going with the “Active”, Nano will show up with tail gate opening and a mild facelift with an automatic (AMT) gearbox for urban buyers. However, the cosmetic makeover will sure-footedly make the model expensive than before. But to be precise about it, likewise to the tag of world’s cheapest car the automatic will also be the world’s cheapest automatic available. And, the possibility of a diesel version is ruled out for present. So, this model may have to wait for some more years to deliver the max from single litre of fuel. With an expected price of Rs 2.5 lakh Nano Active don’t derive an exact rival but Maruti Alto 800 pose to be the nearest.

Tata Nano Twist Active

Tata Kite

Tata’s another effort in the league to patch up those rugs of bad past is strewn with numerous mass selling products designed to also cater the lifestyle buyers (but for a very acute chance). Another one in the list after new Nano is “Kite”, which will lock horns with the likes of Maruti Alto 800 and Hyundai Eon. There is also an extension for it to rage against the Chevrolet Beat, Hyundai i10 and Celerio if planted rightly in the band. Likewise to the other Tata cars, this one wouldn’t be an exception in offering acres of spaces inside the cabin. The good news here is that 1.4-litre diesel and 1.2-litre petrol will make way under the hoods. The speculated price for being tied around its neck will be in the range of Rs 4 and 5 lakh.

Tata Bolt

Just don’t be fed up, this is the last Tata car in the list. A premium over the rest, to be pitted against the likes of Honda Jazz, Maruti Swift, Hyundai i20 Elite and more, it was previewed at Delhi Auto Expo 2014 and would be based on the similar designing language of the sub-4 metre sedan Tata Zest. The 1.3-litre diesel and 1.2-litre petrol to be on the list, and that AMT gearbox too will make the way here. Pricing expected to be in the vicinity of Rs 5.5 lakh and above.

New Ford Figo

Ford’s most promising and appealing car after EcoSport is the new Figo, meant to fetch number of footfalls to the showrooms. This model is reported similar to the one that was launched in Brazil named as Ford Ka. Over this new hatchback, the Blue Oval Logoed carmaker seemed planning a more upmarket image with level and numbers of equipments going to be provided for the expected cost of Rs 4.5 lakh and above. Sync infotainment system is one such example to name for now. The drivetrain of 1.5-litre diesel and 1.2-litre petrol both shall be present in the market.

New Ford Figo

Honda Jazz

Honda’s offering Jazz is the only one left in market, after Ford Figo, for the makeover. But not too late to the party, new Jazz launch during the 2015 will make better provision for Japanese automaker of foraying deeper in the veins of this country. On-board the 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel and 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol both, automaker is confident to count endless number of sales which since it is been missing due to the lack of diesel engines. Likewise to other Honda models this one too will make a pricier statement against the likes of Volkswagen Polo GT, Hyundai i20 Elite and many more.

Honda Jazz

Fiat Punto EVO Abarth

Fiat’s new hatchback called as Punto Evo is speculated to go under the knife of performance department called ‘Abarth’; means if happened it will be the only hatchback in the segment that would be most powerful throughout the country rolled-out from the specialists – company’s official performance department. The Volkswagen Polo GT will be dethroned and even the Ford EcoSport with EcoBoost will get a good blow since bound to be thwarted in the estimated price band of Rs 9.5 lakh. And to make that possible, the 1.4-litre T-Jet petrol engine from Linea is lined to do the job of raking an immense 140bhp.

Maruti Celerio Diesel

Celerio of Maruti has garnered enough response for automaker to take an affirm decision of bringing a diesel version to it. The AMT gearbox which released a fresh trend amongst the carmaker at the time of launch was expected to see the same transmission in the diesel too, but sadly there aren’t such concrete reports doing rounds of the wire to claim that. The fresh lease of technicalities with this car is going to be its engine which will be manufactured by Maruti itself measuring 800cc with two-cylinder. However, the equation doesn’t look to be so powerful, but it would be affordable and efficient – after all it will be the first car to see the small diesel engine of Maruti.

New Volkswagen Beetle

New Beetle has made us waited quite long. Looking to the inputs from buyers and its life spent in the country, Volkswagen must be in the urge to roll-in a new Beetle from the sleeves. Evident from the lifestyle buyers taste, despite being too expensive (approx Rs 28 lakh), it still holds the year long waiting period and the reason for it being pricier is VW import it as a completely built unit so a heavy downpour of duties and taxes are obvious. This time, the changes are expected to be done majorly on the nose, and cabin to held just minute nip and tucks. Against the line to 1.4-litre turbo petrol and 2.0-litre turbo petrol engines there aren’t options of diesel mentioned. Mini Cooper and Fiat 500 Abarth found to be its nearest rivals.

New Volkswagen Beetle

Fiat 500 Abarth

Fiat 500 made way to India years back but  failed to make a stand against the Volkswagen Beetle and MINI Cooper due to the lack of popularity. Earlier, it was only 1.3-litre diesel engine going the duty for it here. Now, the game is going to change as this Italian carmaker has planned to launch the 165bhp version being pumped out by a 1.4-litre turbo petrol engine. Hopefully, it will only make way to the platters of niche audience. The pricing, approximately Rs 25 lakh, if done rightly will bring fortunes from the repertoire and would also set the game for its performance-brand Abarth in India.

Datsun Redi-GO

Nissan ailing dreams of reaching the masses without harnessing its own image is fulfilled with the Datsun GO. The next step to it will be the MPV GO+ which will then be followed by Redi-GO hatchback honed with crossover-type looks and the stylish cosmetic gimmicks. The concept Redi-GO unveiled at Delhi Auto Expo 2014 was eye-appealing as well as generous on space. And if that is to go by for the production version, which looks possible, then the final product will be a stylish name in the category of under Rs 4 lakh. Power to it will come from a 800cc petrol engine and all new platform where both will be shared by the Renault due to an alliance between both of them. Hyundai Santro is the exact car to look for drawing the rivalry at, and Maruti Alto 800 too don’t fall out of the context yet.

Datsun Redi-GO

New Renault Small Car

Renault’s upcoming offering will be similar to that of the Nissan and would be based on that affordable Common Module Family (CMF) platform (of Renault), called as CMF-A. The twist in this story is Renault will be the first to bring it to the market as decided in the papers of alliance. There shall not be disappointment as the duos always thrived to bring up a different model to the plate even after sharing the same platform, for e.g. Micra-Pulse, Sunny-Scala or Duster-Terrano. Hence, its prices are expected to be near to Rs 3 lakh and it shall rival likes of Hyundai Eon as well Maruti Alto 800, with the same aforesaid 800cc petrol engine under the hoods.

Upcoming SUV And MPV Launches In India 2015

SUVs and MPVs are the only categories that world is about to see bombastic results in the near future. As the said categories are more lucrative to young genre and more of utility with a taste of ‘take anywhere’ attitude, they fall easy on pocket and becomes a onetime investment instead of keeping several options for transporting guests/commuting daily routes in a sedan, and rather using another vehicle while moving out for the purchase of stuffs and groceries.

Here, jolted down is a list of SUVs and MPVs that are speculated to come to India in 2015. Scroll down the page and peep into that slice of future which soon may take over your nearby vicinity.

Hyundai ix25

Hyundai’s offering for the masses had always taken into consideration not with a particular rival; instead the whole of fraternity envies this Korean carmaker of appealing better than them in aesthetics even after being on a tight budget. The ix25 which debuted at international waters some days back as a concept for India will get a conventional name and would rival the likes of Nissan Terrano and Renault Duster. The Verna’s impersonation can be seen here under the hoods for engine line-up – 1.6-litre petrol and diesel engine, and the gearboxes – 5 -and 6-speed manual as well as 5-speed automatic (optional).

Expected Price: Rs 10 lakh

Hyundai ix25

New Ford Endeavour

Ford’s big foot on the Indian terrain in the form of Endeavour is about to see the new face soon in the coming year. Known as Everest in international market, the newer version launched abroad shall be rolling down here with a beefier looks and better drivability. The likes of Toyota Fortuner, Mitsubishi Pajero, Chevrolet Captiva and many more in the league will battle their best against it. The engine options under the hoods is bound to ride on the endeavor of 2.2- and 3.0-litre diesel possessing traction of 2WD or 4WD; and an automatic transmission to be optional on the list.

Expected Price: Rs 25-30 lakh

New Ford Endeavour

Jeep Wrangler

Now coming to the plush space for a change, the launch of Jeep slated to happen this year had been postponed till the next year for the reason market was a bit sluggish to accept a new brand in that respective collage. The smallest of Jeep – Wrangler – will make way to India to lovers of a true-blue off-road that also demands luxury and comfort at the same time. Pricing will not be easy to go down with, as expected 4 million INR (Rs 40 lakh) will be tagged around its neck at the first sight. Well, figuring out its rivalry will be quite tough, as none cater to this repertoire is so rigorous, but the price tags or some other factors makes it to inch closer to Mercedes-Benz ML250 CDI and Audi Q5.

Expected Price: Rs 40 lakh

Jeep Wrangler

Jeep Grand Cherokee

Jeep’s flagship SUV, Grand Cherokee, is about to mark the big foot imprint in the form of a stylish American SUV which can go off-road at the same in ultimate luxury, and not to forget teething deeper the persona of the Jeep with traditional seven-slat front grille. A 3.0-litre diesel engine to make way first to the shores, heavy speculations for V8 petrol and such will definitely eat up the European rivals. Well, is the Range Rover going to see tough time?

Expected Price: Rs 70 lakh

Jeep Grand Cherokee

Land Rover Discovery Sport

The Freelander 2 successor Discovery Sport is aimed to barge into most of the sales which its predecessor was garnering for the company. Majorly, 90% of the parts used on this SUV are claimed to be new, and this is the first model of new Discovery range. The reason of bringing it into the market as against the Freelander 2 is better off-road capability and a bigger boot. They say, Discovery Sport is going to be a proper 7-seater to suit the Indian audience and will be powered by the new engine family of XE in the petrol and diesel both. Raising the question over its rivalry, it is actually suited best for the starting level of luxury SUV but those seven-seats added makes it to lock horns with Volvo XC60, Audi Q5 and BMW X3.

Expected Price: Rs 45-60 lakh

Land Rover Discovery Sport

New Audi Q7

The Audi’s Q7 is a prominent answer if asked how to galore fame on the roads of India, most of would say go and get yourself an Audi Q7 as the chunk of Bollywood and other biggies have adopted it for showing off their stardom. The new Q7 must push that envelope further and would offer a more dramatic appeal for the life-style suited buyers. As expected, the new Four-ringed SUV will be bigger and would use the parent company – VW Groups’ – new MLB platform underneath for a big-footer looks. Tech-savvy and luxury burgeoned, it will still weigh lesser than the current ones – all praises for new chassis. The 3.0-litre petrol engine with the same capacity of diesel (of 3.0-litre) and a 4.2-litre diesel will upkeep the momentum. Mercedes-Benz GL-Class and BMW X5 are the ones going to be affected adversely with the new Q7.

Expected Price: Rs 60-75 lakh

New Audi Q7

New BMW X6

Apparently all BMWs look more or less similar whether they are of the present-gen or from the past, with the facelift or without it. But, still this German keep pushing the design team to work out minor changes at least to place the facelift tag on them. One such example of the near future is BMW X6 facelift which will come to India soon by the coming year. Detailing it minutely, it has became aggressive than before and some of its lines are believed to serve un-relaxed since after the workout. Well, who may have thought the assimilation of a coupe and SUV would do so well for BMW, which is still a one of its kind in the category. Drivetrain of X6 facelift is expected to remain unchanged with the 3.0-litre diesel and an addition of 4.4-litre turbocharged V8 is speculated heavily.

Expected Price: Rs 80 lakh

New BMW X6

Porsche Cayenne Facelift

Here is our favourite, the Porsche Cayenne – SUV with sports features, is going to receive a new face in India that is recently launched in international markets. The changes made are subtle where headlamps pose to be the major ones. The refreshed chunk of tweaks lies in the engine bay where the company has tweaked engine for better fuel-economy and power for some options. If preferring to buy naturally aspirated V8, buyers have to be disappointed as the company has replaced it with the efficient and turbocharged V6. Spectators of Turbo S and GTS shall make their decisions affirmed as there aren’t any changes mentioned for them, V8 motors will continue. Mercedes-Benz ML-Class and Range Rover Sport would stand shoulder to shoulder with the Cayenne facelift.

Expected Price: Rs 1.5-2.5 crore

Porsche Cayenne Facelift

Honda CR-V Facelift And Diesel

Honda suffered a huge loss in the SUV department over selling them in India. The reason cited is unavailability of the diesel option which despite launching a CR-V facelift recently didn’t helped so. In another attempt to raise those numbers and top the chart of hot-selling cakes like automobiles – SUV – ‘the facelift’ that international market got this year will be brought to India by next year, and a diesel engine is expected strongly to cover up the grey area left even after doing the right engineering with petrol engine, that actually lacked in raising the fuel-economy which only diesel suits best for the country. A 1.6-litre i-DTEC (diesel) of 118bhp would do the task. And on the aesthetic note, headlamps, bumpers and grille will be changed for the refreshment.

Expected Price: Rs 24-27 lakh

Honda CR-V Facelift And Diesel

Maruti S-Cross

Though we shouldn’t be mentioning this model here, as most its structure resembled the crossover, but everyone in India loves Maruti and whatever it gives is received blindly just for the sake of an old school image that this carmaker is a better option of fuel-economy and maintenance cost, which in real world the international automaker has beaten it to dusk. Based on the hatchback that is raised high to give it a SUV touch, S-Cross is speculated to arrive in India with 1.6-litre petrol and diesel engines mated to manual gearbox. The ace for S-it would be the all-wheel drive system which will give the vehicle a proper drivability in the rough terrain. Nissan Terrano and Renault Duster to become its major rivals.

Expected Price: Rs 13-14 lakh

Maruti S-Cross

Renault Lodgy

Don’t speculate the success rate of Lodgy in India as there are only cost-effective MPVs like Maruti Ertiga and Honda Mobilio doing their best here. The ones like Chevrolet Enjoy, Nissan Evalia, Ashok Leyland Stile and many others couldn’t made up even to the mid of the pace. But the success ratio of Duster that have spruced this French carmaker to roll out its new product line in the fresh lease of segment, makes Lodgy sound to be a very effective example as on paper at least. The famous Renault K9k diesel engine from Duster in the tune of 84bhp for the start maybe provided in 109bhp at a later stage, will be in its engine bay and most of the components also being shared with Duster for the cost-cutting. Hence, with due to all such terminologies embedded here it can bring down the cost of Lodgy to a large extent and make it to stand at par than the rest.

Expected Price: Rs 8-11 lakh

Renault Lodgy

Datsun Go+

Nissan’s long lost dream of entering the low-cost market without harnessing its current image got a big leap with Datsun. Not only in India, but in other international markets this sub-brand of Nissan is doing pretty well. Another product to the nation from the said is going to be very effective in nature, the GO+ MPV, bound to cater the mass of audience who are tempted to buy hatchback. Going to get a 1.2-litre petrol engine of 68bhp and 104Nm of peak torque – the same carried from GO hatchback and Nissan Micra – will be focused here. However, the example available outside India is cramped with shoulder and knee rooms for the third-row seat making it strictly usable for children. After all, the practicality is expected to be the core of ideology at Nissan for GO+. Honda Mobilio, Maruti Ertiga, Chevrolet Enjoy, Nissan Evalia and Ashok Leyland Stile would definitely make its way painful to go forth.

Expected Price: Rs 5.5 – 7.5 lakh

Datsun Go Plus

Maruti XA Alpha

Maruti’s last resort to hunt back those gone away market shares from the compact SUV segment is speculated to be gained back once when the Alpha may get launched in the market by next year. Though, there isn’t enough confirmation of it to be coming into existence this soon, as the company is not interested at all over the low-cost segment. Since after the launch of Ciaz – sedan marketed upward Rs 10 lakh – fetching better results have geared the automaker to plot a one more product in the lifestyle category where the history hadn’t witness the success of this automaker in the segment of above Rs. 1 million (INR 10 lakh). The Swift’s 1.2l-litre K series petrol engine shall make the way here. But for the diesel picture is expected to be a slot bigger with the 1.5-litre diesel of Fiat.

Expected Price: Rs 7.5-10 lakh

Maruti XA Alpha

Upcoming Sedan Launches In 2015

Soaring trend of MPVs and SUVs has given the segment of sedan a big blow and made them left for a set of niche audience. Still, the market of India is quite vibrant and there always remains a place for everyone to play their cards with leisure. So, a number of automakers geared the guts to put their foot down and make a concrete move over the launch of several sedans in 2015. Listed below is a list of expected models that are going to land in India sooner or later. Scroll down to discover more…

Ford Figo+

We know Ford is late to the party of sub-4 meter sedan, where even the Tata Motors also landed with its Zest. But vying demand from the segment and numbers remaining all-time high for the sellers here, it would prove a hotspot for Ford to bank upon the credibility it garnered in the recent past with EcoSport.

Though, we know the elder sibling ‘Fiesta’ to lend cues at number of places, including engine options as well. The 1.0-litre EcoBoost (turbo-petrol), new 1.0-litre petrol and existing 1.5-litre diesel of 85bhp are likely to make their way here under the hoods. It will have a strong rivalry with Honda Amaze, Maruti Swift Dzire, Tata Zest and Hyundai Xcent.

Ford Figo

Volkswagen Polo Sedan

The not so amazing gap between Polo and Vento has grabbed eyes of Volkswagen to fill that slot precisely with a brand new product, rather than shuffling price tags of other models to cue the competition. An outcome that India is going to see for the said is Polo-based sedan which will guide new dimension to this German parent company. The same platform of hatchback will be used and that trend of a slapped-boot will be followed. VW sub-4 meter offering is expected to wear the same face as of its siblings. Hence, the designing department are maintaining their asses on fire, as Polo already measures 3,971mm in length and reworking it for another under 4 meter product that too with a boot (retaining all the German engineering) definitely juiced the backlog for this astounding success-expected product.

Engines are bound to be carried over from the existing generations, 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol and 1.5-litre diesel.

Volkswagen Polo Sedan

Hyundai Verna facelift

Hyundai has already spruced entire line-up in India with recent facelift of revamp, except the Verna, which may soon see new creases in form of a facelift by 2015. Along with the cosmetic changes, suspension is also for a tune-up. For the smart Joe, it is the same version which automaker has launched in Russia some days back honed withj sharper nose and larger headlamps. Obviously, catchy LEDs in the tail-lamps will make to our shores, and the technical guise of petrol version will get a six-speed automatic as a replacement of four-speed.

Existing engine options of 1.4-litre petrol, 1.4-litre diesel, 1.6-litre petrol and 1.6-litre diesel will make their way under the bonnet. VW Vento, Honda City and Maruti Ciaz stand to its core of competition.

Hyundai Verna facelift

Volkswagen Jetta Facelift

Volkswagen India for the past many months is in a league of rolling out facelifts and revamps of existing generations, where this time it isn’t going to be exceptional yet. The upmarket Jetta, is about to receive a facelift over the coming year. The more upmarket audience is taken into consideration on the new design – with wider air dam and LED embedded tail lamps. Bigger chunk will be inside the cabin – sophisticated steering wheel, clear and bigger instrument dials, an all new high-resolution trip computer and fresh infotainment (expectedly) lifted from new Octavia. The 2.0-litre diesel will get a bump in power by 10bhp, whereas 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol will continue.

Volkswagen Jetta Facelift

New Volkswagen Passat

Another addition to VW badge in 2015 will be the eight-generation Passat that is said to set standards right against the Germans like C-Class, A4 and 3-Series from Mercedes-Benz, Audi and BMW respectively. The changes on outer would be restricted to new fuller grille, bold lines/creases and LED infused head- and tail-lamps. For the amount of money it is going to be offered (approximately more than Rs 30 lakh) cabin quality is bind to set its own dignifying aura with bundle of tech-impended features. Counting down the list, they came noted as 360-degree parking camera, automated parking capability, and automatic speed controller in traffic-like condition which is programmed to halt the car when driver isn’t in the position to handle it further or when he is injured. Instrument cluster will go fully-digital. Under the bonnet there will be a 2.0-litre diesel engine provided in three states of tune: 148bhp, 187bhp and 237bhp (from a twin-turbo). The guise will be mated to a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox.

New Volkswagen Passat

New Honda Accord

It’s been a while since Honda has discontinued Accord in India for the reason it wasn’t having a diesel option, and the demand for petrol trim was ultimately killed due to rising fuel prices. New Accord is promising the carmaker for a new beginning in the segment, and as purchasing power of Indians had risen remarkably rolling out a new example of the Big Honda Daddy will make sense. Mature styling, a well-refined 2.4-litre petrol engine and a CVT gearbox will do justice to package. The performance version from a V6 may be unable to make to the party, whereas a possibility for hybrid version goes quite strong. There aren’t any signs of diesel coming into the way soon, a 1.6-liter unit available in international markets may crave to us in future.

New Honda Accord

New Mercedes-Benz C-Class

The smallest Star-logoed sedan from Germany is the only guy in its line-up which even after performing dutifully isn’t bestowed with a facelift. Now, in 2015, Benz had planned to come out with a new version of the same which is mending to take on comfort level in the cabin upto the flagship – S-Class. Engine options under the hoods will be same as of the outgoing generation, powering with a 1.8-litre turbo petrol and 2.2-litre diesel.

New Mercedes-Benz C-Class

BMW 3-Series Facelift

To curb down the effect of new C-Class from Mercedes, BMW is expected to battle in the league with 3-Series facelift, which will be concluded in the form of major changes not over the body, instead under the hoods. Except for minute nip and tucks on cosmetic note, engine bay will be lined-up with new options like 1.5-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine from MINI, and diesel that made its way to India via X3 facelift in the recent past. Hopefully, comeback of 6-cylinder petrol engine is strongly speculated. It if happened, then gigantic fanfares will once again galore the Munich based carmaker, especially the enthusiasts and niche who had a taste for such excitements.

BMW 3-Series Facelift

Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class

Mercedes’ isn’t leaving any stone unturned to capture the first spot in automotive industry, obviously with its own taste. CLA-Class is another shot to India after GLA that will land to take on the rivals with festooning numbers. CLA isn’t an alien to the nation, because we have already experienced the AMG version (CLA45 AMG). New German bud on our shores will be positioned below the C-Class in competition to Audi A3. Not a heavy blunder of rivals in this range, CLA will target young buyers, and definitely would aim some from the base of A- and B-Class admirers also, but would deliver more than its hatchback sibling in terms of space, equipment and a boot. Engine options will be carried from 4-cylinder 1.6 turbo petrol and 2.2 turbo diesel mills, mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox sending all power to front wheels. Right pricing is an ace to make it settled comfortably in that inching space.

Fiat Avventura vs Ford EcoSport vs Toyota Etios Cross vs Volkswagen Cross Polo: Specifications Comparison

The launch of Fiat Avventura in the past week had silently stirred the long-lost idle segment of hatchback-turned crossover/compact SUVs. The early birds of the said repertoire are Volkswagen Cross Polo, Toyota Etios Cross, and not the least – Ford EcoSport – that also fits the snag here with regards to driving ergonomics.

So, a thorough comparison is worked to propel the perfect choice from all of them. Hence, a car of the proper lifestyle-aesthetics and crossover/compact SUV feel shall definitely make to the podium if had been marketed rightly. Read on to find more…

Engine

At the heart, all of them arrives with options of petrol and diesel engine both, except for Volkswagen Cross Polo that trails along only a 1.5-litre diesel of 89bhp of power and 230Nm of torque. Amongst the rest, Ford Ecosport offers a wide array of trims that comes with two petrol and one diesel, where in gasoline one is the award-winning ‘EcoBoost’. Terming specifically, 1.0-litre Ecoboost delivers 123.3bhp and 170Nm of torque. The Ford’s 1.5-litre petrol delivers 109.9bhp and 140Nm of torque. Its 1.5-litre diesel unit makes sufficient output of 89.8bhp and 204Nm. Recently launched Fiat Avventura holds the 1.4-litre petrol of 89bhp and 115Nm of torque, and the famous 1.3-liter Multijet diesel in its bay producing 92bhp and 209Nm of torque. The Etios Cross, on the other side, pose for a competitive run for the money with guises of 1.2-litre petrol engine enough for returning 79.1bhp and 104Nm of torque, and a 1.5-litre petrol churning out 88.5bhp and 132Nm of torque. The diesel trim of Etios are powered by a 1.4-litre craving 67bhp of max power and 170Nm of torque.

Fiat Avventura vs Ford EcoSport vs Toyota Etios Cross vs Volkswagen Cross Polo: Specifications Comparison

On the transmission side, likewise the engine’s offering, Ford EcoSport manages to rip off a pole with its optional six-speed automatic for the petrol buyers. The rest of them (including EcoSport) come attached to a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard.

Dimension

As already affirmed the EcoSport is totally league apart and is designed properly to cater the compact SUV segment, hatchbacks turned crossovers here falls a bit shorter than it on the sizing note. In length, Ford’s offering measures 3999mm, followed by Avventura that had just fallen short by 10mm at 3989mm. Further disappointed is the Volkswagen Cross Polo which is of 3987mm length, followed by Etios Cross at the last spot with 3895mm.

The width too crucifies what is said for the EcoSport earlier, measuring the lead – Ford’s compact SUV – at 1765mm Etios Cross falls shorter to it by 30mm (1735mm). Fiat Avventura here has saved the side flab purposely for aerodynamics, looking out at 1706mm width, and seems VW the Cross Polo too has the same reason to say for its 1698mm.

Tallest here is the Ford EcoSport with 1708mm, followed by Etios Cross at 1555mm, Avventura measures 1542mm, and Cross Polo is humble at 1483mm.

The inches between two wheels define some clarity of the cabin space, and however EcoSport managed to bag the top-spot for 2520mm of wheelbase. Avventura is the closest rival with 2510mm. Cross Polo measures 2469mm, followed by Etios Cross at 2460mm.

When talks are about crossovers and compact SUVs, the ground clearance opens a wide array of terrains to ravage them through, which is sort of impossible for the conventional hatchbacks. It seemed automakers had taken this proportion seriously and these versions of compacts are abreacted with better ground visibility over their siblings. Naming here, first is Fiat Avventura standing with its tall boy looks at 205mm, must say, very impressive! Ford EcoSport has a closest rift at 200mm. Etios Cross comes for a not-so-decent clearance of 174mm, and Cross Polo doesn’t forted to gain momentum in the race, standing behind the rest at 165mm.

Overview

Overall, the comparison had seen close rivalry between Fiat Avventura and Ford EcoSport. So, depending upon the appeals, both of them had enticed us immensely. Etios Cross and Volkswagen Cross Polo seemed totally lost in the game. As already Ford enjoys a good space in the market with its EcoSport, it seemed the success-hungry Fiat is going to have a tough time in selling Avventura that it has crafted painstakingly to make a one more remarkable impression in India.

10 Best Car Keys Ever Made

Designing a car is one part, and designing its key fob is another.

The million-dollar cars speak out loud when thrown open to the road, but what’s about the performance and dignity that cannot be explained to someone else at a chat over a dinning-table! There come the key-fobs in picture which speaks more than you could have thought of. So, this must have taken the designers to place themselves aggressively towards this aura. Here, we listed down best of the keys that are made in the world just to keep it speaking of your car every time.

BMW i8

There isn’t anything better than a BMW i8; its key fob replicates the same. A LCD screen depicting details like battery-charge, fuel in the fuel-tank, distance to be crossed before the next charge; it can set the temperature remotely before entering the cabin.  Must say – literally Genius!

Aston Martin

Squared out of crystal, the Aston Martin key fob is an art itself – as becomes the start button when inserted. More to it, the British automaker developed a watch too in association with Jaeger-LeCoultre that locks and unlocks the Aston just by a touch on its dial. To lock – touch between 8 and 9; to unlock – touch between 3 and 4. Really a Bond-ish!

Koenigsegg CCXR key

With love from Sweden that can be very exclusive, it’s none other than Koenigsegg CCXR key. Looked to be an actual realization of the company’s logo, it has a rubber button at the back that makes the car’s alarm operational. Well, does seem like holding a small turtle on our palms, Swede must have referred to nature for their inspiration of doing different this time.

Spyker

The Dutch and Swede may not have the same ideology of building a supercar, but it looks they both must have hired the same team of designers to design their keys. The Spyker that is quite niche in itself has made its key fob the same way.

Pagani Huayra

Enticingly Italian, Pagani commands dominance over the rest when it leashes out on road. The key fob designed keeping such dominance; it is bound to crave a one even if you don’t own a Huayra.

Tesla Model S

Tesla always cracks up criticisms whenever talked about. But this may never happen if the buyers would flaunt the key. Designed as the miniature of Model S, the slick, stylish and suede, it is the car’s key underneath the sheath.

Porsche 917

Those who think Porsche only make brilliant cars; must think again what the best trick to gain a better performance is? Simply, cut down the weight is the right answer – but till what extent – Porsche answered it rightly. The 917 key had 8 holes drilled, which may look unusual and dud, but it was actually for keeping it as light as possible.

Bugatti Veyron Top Speed Key

The fastest doesn’t need a single key. To brag the competition more extreme, Bugatti gave the Veyron an application to reach more than the maximum limit by unleashing its raw power from “another key” apart from the standard one. Elicited a keyhole behind the driver’s seat, the special top-speed key when inserted makes the Veyron to lower its chassis, shut the front air diffusers and run a few seconds of safety checks to cross the mark of more than 400km/h…isn’t that whopping!

Ford Pre 1980s

Multipurpose concept cannot be explained better than this, a screw driver to open most of Ford model’s in pre 1980’s era. Had anyone made a spanner as the key to drive a car?

VW PCP Car’s Key

Volkswagen PCP (people’s car project) may be restricted to the China, but its’ key has made the whole fraternity to go nuts. Likewise to the BMW’s i8, it has a screen that shows the details, which it can trace the lost vehicle via satellite.

Right-Hand Drive Ford Mustang Commences Testing: Official

Ford Mustang was a legacy of America which only the left-hand drive markets had enjoyed, but now the company is relieved to know that there are lots of its fans in the right-hand drive markets as well. So, to bring out the excitement for them, Ford had officially claimed to have commenced the testing of right-hand Mustang, which is expected to see the daylight soon.

Hopefully, the right-hand markets like UK, South Africa and Australia posed to be the major buyers of Mustang. Approximately, there are 25 markets (inclusive of the said) in which the Blue Oval logoed carmaker will sell its new muscle car.

This is the first time in history that Ford is building a factory made right-hand drive Mustang.

Right-Hand Drive Ford Mustang Commences Testing Official

Till date, United States has remained the largest market for the Mustang, as more than 9.2 million cars are sold since its debut in 1964. Outside the States, during 2012, automaker sold more than 4k Mustangs in 35 markets ranging from North America, United Arab Emirates to Chile, Philippines and many more.

Apparently, the first spy-shots of the test-mule may appear soon.

Official Ford Spare-Parts Will Soon Be Available In Open Markets

In a bid to sour the battle for competitors, Ford India went unconventional and announced to make its spare parts available in open market for the ease of customers. This in return may lose the number of vehicles at the bay of service centers, but would definitely pump up the confidence of customers in the austerity of brand. The move may not be welcomed by other competitors and also its own service centers vendors, but it is entitled to bring smiles to the faces of open-garages and other mechanics. Availability of service parts availability in open-market will definitely notch the competition of Ford against the cost-effective cars from Maruti, Hyundai, Mahindra and Tata Motors.

Though, the aforesaid move will not only increase the numbers, instead it will also make the reach of Ford deeper in the veins of India where its service centers are located farer than the most of settlements.

Official Ford Spare-Parts Will Soon Be Available In Open Markets

However, from the Ford’s point of acceptance this strategy had received all internal clearances, but the company says, clearance from Competition Commission of India (CCI) is still pending, which too maybe received in the coming days. Just to brief about the CCI, it is a legal body that watches the automakers over unethical practices in the market over the sales of spare parts, which sometimes the companies charges supernatural amounts to customers for the spare-parts at their authorized bays and restricting the sales of it in the open market.

Hence, after a long test of time and trial, now Ford seemed to have hit the nail right on its head, as this move can literally bring down the maintenance cost and would allot it a place in the competition against the number-sellers.

Time and again, the truth will be revealed soon when the feedbacks from the customers will be seen positive and the sales numbers rising.
