Automaker Nissan proposes to augment its attendance in budding zones like India by making its affordable as well as efficient vehicle brand Datsun more and more popular.

Mr. Carlos Ghosn, the company’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) determined that the expansion of the auto giant required a concentrated approach, after noticing that the Chinese market has been bobbing up speedily in order to surpass USA as the globe’s major car market.

Amongst the innovative vehicles, the foremost Datsun would be nicknamed K2 that will be available at a cost below Rs. 4 lakh and would stand in front of competitors from other biggies such as Hyundai, Maruti as well as General Motors India.

Whilst the worldwide premiere of K2 will take place during the month of July in the national capital, the initial model would be rolled out by the coming year (2014). Overall, 5 vehicles are being formulated for the budding worldwide automobile markets.

While talking about the Datsun plan, Vincent Cobee, international head of the Datsun project for the company stated, “He told me if I could provide it a shot. We witnessed China burst out. We comprehended something was taking place and we weren’t readied for it.”

Vincent was an ex Program Director for the V podium, making use of which vehicles like Sunny and Micra have been fabricated by the auto maker.

Considering the sight of automobile specialists, a variety of causes have been remonstrated for Nissan rolling out Datsun in the budding zones.

One of them is that expansion in Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa nations is hinged upon the sale facts of these economical brands that are being purchased by a novel class of clients. Exclusive requirements of these clients can be dealt only through a separate cluster of vehicle models. The other cause is that regulatory standards of nations like United Sates cannot be accompanied in third world nations. The plan would be to diminish characteristics, but all at once, not annihilating those that are needed in the budding markets.

Datsun vehicles are now being revived, after getting terminated. The extraordinary characteristics of this brand would be that vehicles would display contemporary styling, be reasonable, provide high fuel competence and put down great stress on toughness and security, together with low cost of possession.

But, the company would require making sure that there’s no brand puzzlement between itself as well as Datsun, since Nissan has just about managed a certain attendance in the domestic market.

While talking on the situation, Mr. Mohit Arora, Executive Director for JD Power (Asia Pacific), stated, “When Nissan itself is Nissannot a well-known brand in the domestic market, rolling out another brand may append to the perplexity.”

The other matter would be that the nation is already full of reasonably priced vehicles, so obtaining an additional brand with the identical approach will be quite a big challenge.

At present China is one of the fastest growing car markets in the world and top global car makers are struggling hard to get the biggest chunk of the most promising market in the world. The rise in the sale in the Chinese market have attracted premium auto firms like Jaguar, Audi, BMW, land Rover and Mercedes-Benz, who are also gaining much profit. But in all, top Japanese auto makers are getting it hard to hold their market in China.

Honda, Toyota and Nissan are the three Japanese auto maker that are facing tiring task of luring Chinese buyers. These firms have seen a serious decline in the sales in the Chinese market in past few months after the dispute that was aroused between the two countries regarding few uninhibited island in the East China Sea. This territorial dispute has led to the boycott of the Japanese vehicles by the Chinese customers.

In order to gain the lost market Toyota has released two affordable models Yaris and Vios. Vios is a low cost family car while Yaris is a Hatchback; both the vehicle has been designed specially to suit the Chinese market. Nissan has also lineup all its SUVs and Honda is developing Jade for the Chinese market. Honda jade will be hitting the shores of China in the first phase and will be followed by further release in the other global markets.

Speaking on the issue, CEO of the Chinese wing of the Toyota Motor Corp., Hiroji Onishi said that the reality is that there has not been a single model that can be considered as a big hit in the Chinese market and none of the vehicles has been able to gross 20,000 sales per month so, there can be a marketing issue that is haunting the company. So, company is now trying hard to elevate its presence in the Chinese market.

Honda, Nissan and Toyota are showing off their best products at the 2013 Shanghai auto show and are trying to invoke the interest of the Chinese people. Just like India, China is also one of the most important markets for automobile and it cannot be ignored. This explains the pain these companies are taking to keep their market shares intact.

Nissan was quite keen on its new concept that it had teased some days before, and to be true the unveiling at Shanghai Motor Show 2013 had made everyone tight lipped on the happening, as it was so glamorous and lavishing that no one dared to utter a word from their mouth.

Well, revealing the concept as of now, Nissan had unveiled Friend Me Concept at Shanghai, and is said to be targeting the youths who are in their early twenties, and do also share a cool sort of friendship among them. Looking at the vehicle one can say that it is a masterpiece of technology and looks like a piece of rocket on outside, but on inside their lies the actual game, interiors are done in a manner that all four passenger are connected together at a time and can have a look in all the technicalities of car simultaneously. Let us explain you how?

A unique centre console is stretched from front to the rear, giving a visibility of screen to all four passengers at a glance and to be precise, anyone of them can change the music or so with the ordering panel slated at their sleeves. If one of them finds a cool content on his phone then he can share that too via the same communication channel with all occupants. This unique initiative is named termed as “Oracle-stone” by its makers and also learnt that more of advancements are too stored inside which may come to clarification when being rolled down under aura of production spec.

Majorly the actual performing tweak was inside, but exteriors also tend to have the right position when it comes to cues of designing. Being developed by Nissan Design China, it is a combo of edgy and swift flowing lines where the most of promises cannot be witnessed in daylight, a night ride will definitely envy up the neighbors in our automobile fraternity. With the V motion shaped front grille, more aggressive lines goes through the shoulders and ends up leaving sporty yet aggressive looks on first appearance, which looks like a familiar trait of the new generation youth; “but” a family pack too is not retained for the exceptional case.

Technical specifications are not yet completely divulged but being pinned above the sedan platform, a 2.0L PureDrive hybrid powertrain is sufficient to zip through whacky roads of cities, and more importantly one may have a cruise like experience (of yachts) when he will be surfing on the highways.

“If there’s one thing we want Nissan to be known for, it’s uniquely powerful insight into what excites and delights customers across China,” said François Bancon, Division General Manager of product strategy and advanced planning at Nissan. “Friend-Me is just the beginning,” and that seems to be all true, most probably for men who are in their early 20s.

X-Trail was the first offering from house of Nissan, but to be factual rather than speculations, it hadn’t performed well on our sales charts, where one might say that lacking is in the preference of Indian taste which calls greatly for “Big Bonks”, namely Hummer or its resembling Toyota Fortuner and so. Need to worry over here, being called as the renowned face of makers, now this SUV is a due in the pipeline of facelift, while many of us had got bored seeing the same soft-cornered attire for quite long.

2013 is the year which Nissan had chalked out auspicious for X-Trail facelift here, but before the Indian debut to be done they had launched it in Malaysia at a price tag of 148,000 Malaysian Ringgit.

Covering that Asian territory, X-Trail facelift is lugged with 2.0 liter petrol followed by an X-CVT automatic gearbox.

Fresh bumpers, all new front grille and refreshed headlamps are the most dominating flips on exteriors, and to enhance that mild indulgence, LED inputs on head and tail lamps are cushioned for the striding blow.

Interior seeks an all-blackened layout, 6” touch screen infotainment system with USB and iPOD connectivity, Bluetooth, navigation system and reverse parking camera, completing the set of some niche luxurious assortment at core.

Getting back to the start again, present generation X-Trail in India is done with 5-seater capacity and even the one which is launched in Malaysia is forked out with same seating spec, as was a major drawback for that particular model plate here; but hopefully the metal which Japanese had previewed at last year Geneva event, named as High Cross Concept, inclusive of the 7-seater capacity, can be still smelled inside the pipeline of organization and it may make appearance in near future, ‘but when’ is still yet unknown, must be soon in the very near future.

Nissan has launched an automatic variant of its Sunny sedan. The automatic Nissan Sunny sedan is fitted with a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) which Nissan calls X-Tronic CVT. This very same transmission is also found in Renault Scala automatic.

The automatic variant of the Nissan Sunny will be available to you for Rs.8.49 lacs (ex-showroom). Everything else in the car remains same. It is also powered by the same 1.5-liter petrol engine which also powers the manual transmission versions. But in the automatic version the engine puts out a max power of 99.6bhp as opposed to 97bhp in the manual variant.

According to the company, the mileage of the Nissan Sunny CVT is 17.97kmpl. This is quite a high mileage figure given the fact that other cars in this class offers something around 14-16kmpl. For instance, the Ford Fiesta automatic has a fuel-efficiency rate of 16.97kmpl.

In order to boost sales and have a greater market share in the country, Japanese automaker Nissan Motors India has announced a new EMI scheme which will make payment easier for buyers. The new scheme reduces EMIs by as much as 40%. The new scheme will be valid up to 3 years and will ask buyers to pay only 34 percent of the cost as down payment when making the purchase. HDFC, ICICI, Kotak and Tata Capital are partnering Nissan in this scheme of theirs.

According to Nitish Tipnis, Sales and Marketing Executive at Hover Automotive, the new scheme has been announced keeping the market sentiments in mind. Since the market is witnessing a negative customer sentiment and almost no growth in sales, this easy EMI scheme might just act as a catalyst in improving volume and customer confidence.

In the last fiscal, Nissan managed to hike 11 percent growth in its sales volume where it sold 36,975 units compared to 33,270 units sold in the previous fiscal. But even after that overall market sentiment in India is grim and no big changes in that are expected in this fiscal as well.
