VW India to Be a City-Associate at Indo-German Urban Mela in Pune

After talking to Delhi Public regarding future mobility at Indo-German Urban Mela, the German car maker Volkswagen is currently all set to introduce the IGUM version in the city of Pune.
Similar to Delhi Mela, the forthcoming Pune version will also be based on the similar subject of novelty, sustainability and dependability and for the most part consider 2 key thoughts MicroCity and NILS.

VW low cost brand not to arrive before 2016

It was earlier speculated that Volkswagen’s may come up with some low cost car brand to counter with the rivals like Nissan-Datsun’s budget cars. While Nissan-Datsun may be revealing its cars by 2014, it has now become quite evident that Volkswagen will not be coming up with its budget car before 2016. The news has come straight from the mouth of Ulrich Hackenberg, Volkswagen’s R&D chief.
The news will surely be a relief for the Nissan-Datsun as it will allow them to gain the advantage of first move, but this will also require Volkswagen to come up with a new strategy that could enable them to produce low cost cars by reducing production cost.

Volkswagen to enter low-cost market segment by 2016

The low cost car segment is attracting every carmaker in the world. This car segment is very much lucrative in developing and under-developed markets. India too is a part of this medley. In spite of various unsuccessful attempts to enter the veins of Indian customers, Volkswagen is now trying to have its pie of the market share in the low-cost segment. It has announced the launch of a low-cost car for India, which is expected to be rolled out in 2016. Yet another competitor who is eyeing this particular segment with complete focus is Datsun, and it is also the first carmaker to make such an announcement. German and American carmakers are fighting against each other to conquer China. We are not so shocked on hearing this news. It is because China is one of the fastest growing automobile markets in the world in spite of the downturn witnessed in economic conditions of Europe and other countries. Chinese are making favorable policies to attract more and more carmakers from around the globe. The recent example is Tata’s JLR plant in China.

Volkswagen eyeing Indian Heavyweights of the Auto Industry for its Top Management

Volkswagen India seems to be taking reduced sales figure on a serious note. To arrest the reducing sales, Volkswagen is trying hard to get Indian heavyweights of the auto industry in the top management.
Mr. Arvind Saxena from Hyundai joined VW as MD.
Another guy who is planning to join VW is Avik Chattopadhyay, former top executive of MSIL. Avik will join VW as GM, Marketing and will replace German national Lutz Kothe. Other names which are sprouting from the news to join VW are Ashish Anand – Hyundai’s Regional Manager, Hardeep Brar-former MSIL Dealer Development Head and Pankaj Sharma-now on board as VW Sales Head.
