Launch of the new generation Swift Dzire is confirmed for next month. The car would come with comprehensive upgrades over the outgoing version. The most noticeable of all is the proportionate design on the three-box model.
Maruti Suzuki has launched its newest Alto K10 Plus special edition 2017 at Rs.3.40 lakhs. In terms of its style and design, Alto K10 is similar to its original series.
The Maruti Suzuki Baleno RS hot hatchback has officially been launched in India. The Baleno RS has been priced at Rs.8.69 lakh and is available exclusively through the Nexa outlets.
Maruti just added a bit of premiumness to its Ertiga MPV and launched it at Rs.7.85 lakhs. This limited edition Ertiga is now available on the mid-level VXi and VDi variants and comes with cosmetic additions to the exterior and interior.
The Nexa dealership from Maruti Suzuki is all set to undergo expansion and will fan out to as many as 80 locations across the country in anticipation for the launch of their upcoming offering, the Baleno.
In order to staff these outlets, the company plans to hire as many as 2500 relationship managers by the end of this fiscal year and also hopes to increase the number of outlets it has in this country to 100. The outlets it has announced now will also be functional soon. Maruti is taking this extra step as it expects huge things from the Baleno and has already managed to get quite a buzz going in the market. In fact it is of the opinion that as many as 75 to 80 per cent of the sales of their premium cars come from the top 30 cities in India and will be setting up Nexa outlets on a priority basis at these locations.
The Ertiga facelift has been launched in India by Maruti Suzuki and this will be the first updated edition of the car since its 2012 launch. The car has both mechanical as well as cosmetic updates and packs quite a punch in its new avatar.
The MOV now comes with two engine options. First is the 1.4 litre petrol unit that delivers 94bhp in terms of power as well as 130Nm of torque. The diesel unit is a 1.3 litre MultiJet engine that gives 90bhp of power as well as 200Nm in terms of torque. In terms of updates, the Ertiga becomes only the second Maruti car after the Ciaz to get the SHVS (Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki) technology here in India and while this has increased prices by a bit, the car remains quite desirable.
In terms of looks too, the car has a new chrome grille, chrome garnish on the fog lamps as well as revised bumpers. Available in six shades, the Ertiga will take on the Chevrolet Enjoy and the Honda Mobilio here in Indian markets.

Suzuki’s new premium hatchback has already begun to make waves in the Indian market and the company is looking to use the Indian facility in order to act as a manufacturing hub for the car globally. The Baleno is to be manufactured at the Manesar facility of the automaker and is to be exported to as many as 100 markets across the world, which includes Japan, via the CBU route.
The Baleno is likely to be exported by Maruti to markets across the globe including European, Asian as well as South American markets. Maruti will also rev up production by a great extent as India will be the sole manufacturer and exports are set to start within a couple of month from the October 26 India launch by the company.
The Indian edition of the Baleno will have the 1.2 litre K-series petrol engine option and the 1.3 litre MultiJet diesel engine option. In European markets, the car will also have a new 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbocharged petrol mill as an option.
The bookings for the Baleno have already begun across the country and the cost is likely to be quite low since the company has managed to locally source as much as 99 per cent of the components of the cars. The options that the Baleno will be available in include four manual diesel options as well as four manual petrol and one automatic petrol transmission option.
The limited edition version of the Alto K10, named the Alto K10 Urbano, has been launched by Maruti Suzuki in a bid to usher in festive season cheer for the company. A special Onam edition of the Maruti Suzuki Alto 800 had also been launched by the company earlier and it is known for making special limited edition cars to suit the occasion.
The Urbano will not see major changes in terms of the technical aspects with the 1.0-litre K-series all aluminium engine continuing to run on the car which delivers 69PS in terms of power as well as 90Nm of torque. The car is mated to a five speed manual transmission and delivers a fuel efficiency of a reported 24.07kmpl.
According to the Executive Director, Marketing and Sales, Maruti Suzuki India, R S Kalsi, the Urbano will bring convenience as well as happiness to customers this festive season as it comes with a characteristic silver and black theme which has complementary garnish and body graphics. Many features such as hands free Bluetooth kit and reverse parking sensor have also been added to the car which will make it stylish, trendy and all the more attractive for customers.
The car has as many as 18 additional features and these can be availed at a price that is Rs 16,990 more than the usual Alto K10. There is also a special 90 per cent funding which is available on the MGA package that the model comes with.
Details of the Baleno have been leaked prior to its launch and this has been generating quite a bit of buzz for the car which is going to be Maruti Suzuki’s latest premium hatchback offering.
The Baleno is to be available in four variants. This includes the Sigma, Zeta, Alpha and Delta. Sigma being the base model will come with fewer features while the Delta comes with a music system and power windows.
The Zeta variant also has leather wrap, LED DRLs, auto headlamps, telescopic adjustment for steering and alloy wheels as well. This is likely to be most popular as the Alpha variant just adds the projector headlamps and rear parking sensors to the Zeta model.
The Baleno is to be available in both diesel as well as petrol options. The petrol will be the 1.2-litre VVT engine which will deliver 83bhp in terms of power as well as 115Nm in terms of torque. The petrol edition will come with a five speed manual transmission option as well as a four speed automatic option. The diesel engine is likely to be a 75bhp producing 1.3 litre mill with a VGT turbo option also possible which will deliver 90bhp in terms of power.
The Baleno will be sold through the NEXA dealerships and it is being believed that bookings have already begun at a cost of Rs.25000 with delivery to be prior to Diwali in order to meet the festive spirit.
The new Baleno from Maruti Suzuki is being teased by the company across the country through their Nexa showrooms. The Baleno will follow on the lines of the S-Cross and will be sold through the Nexa showrooms. Based on a new platform, the car is classified as a small car and measures in at 3955mm in terms of length and 1745mm in terms of width.
The Baleno is to be powered by a 1.2-litre petrol engine which will deliver 83bhp in terms of power as well as 115Nm of torque. There will also be an option of a 1.3-litre DDiS200 multijet diesel engine delivering 90bhp of power as well as 200Nm of torque. The engines are to run on the Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki (SHVS) technology offered by Suzuki and this will help improve efficiency of the vehicles. It is being touted that the Baleno might well turn out to be India’s most fuel efficient car.
Since it will be a beneficiary of the hybrid car subsidy, the Baleno is likely to be extremely competitively priced. The range of pricing is expected to be between Rs.5.25 lakh to Rs.8.25 lakh and will appeal to most Indian small car consumers. It will enter a fiercely competitive playing field and will look to take on the likes of the mighty Hyundai i20 as well as the Honda Jazz here in the Indian market. Maruti has been waiting for an out and out winner for a while now and this just might be it.
