Chevrolet reveals Frankfurt lineup

Frankfurt fever isn’t ended yet, more and more carmakers getting prone to it daily. Latest one to enter the fray is ‘Chevrolet’, that is with ample of updates and a new limited edition.

Terming the limited edition first, is Spark Bubble Edition (known as Beat in India) with bubble decals and white 15-inch alloy wheels. The same also features leatherette seats and color-coordinated trim for the interiors. In addition, a facelift due to the existing model is there in the lineup, but the American carmaker doesn’t seem doing with it for the Frankfurt debut.

Next for the updates will be 2014 Aveo, which is said to gain a standard rearview camera and new ORVMs integrated with LED turn lights. Rear camera will be for the models that are equipped with MyLink infotainment system, while latter one (i.e. new ORVMs) are meant for the high-end variants itself.

2014 Cruze too is there on the list. A new MyLink infotainment system with GPS navigation, voice recognition technology and text-to-speech capability, are the new tweaks that this sedan will receive at the German event. Flip side conveys Side Blind Zone Alert and new outer mirrors with integrated LED turn signals to be funded on its high-end variant, where the show stealer would be its new 1.7-liter diesel engine producing 110 hp (81 kW) and CO2 emissions as low as 99 g/km.

Most aspiring one and the most expected, turbocharged 1.4-liter Trax, will be offered by an additional trim of front-wheel drive. And when paired to a six-speed manual transmission, Trax will accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 9.5 seconds, yielding the average of 6.0 L/100km and the CO2 emissions of 139 g/km.

Orlando would get the new restyled wheels and mirrors with integrated LED turn signals at the Frankfurt. It will also gain the Side Blind Spot Alert, Advanced Parking Aid and a new MyLink infotainment system with a seven-inch display. For the least, a 1.4-liter four-cylinder petrol engine to marry a six-speed automatic transmission in the latest for Orlando in Germany.

Complementing the Orlando, Malibu on the other hand gains an upgraded 2.0-liter diesel engine and the stop/start technology for manually transmitted variants. Leveraging the looks, 4.7 L/100 km average and 125 g/km of CO2 emissions seems subtle.
