Dozens of cars are being launched everyday, from hatches to premium sedans to sport coupes. However, Ferrari does not seem to be interested in this battle for total control on every segment. Though it has just four production model lines, the Italian master of performance machinery boasts its excellence one in a blue moon. And the time has come for the fast car to roll out, and by fast, it means really fast.
This new successor of the Fiorano 599 GTB, is a front-engine rear-wheel driven V12 supercar, and it is named F620 GT. The F152 was just a codename given to the sportscar, and after countless rumor of its composition, the car’s unveiling is just around the corner.
This fast car is built on all-new chassis with extensive use of aluminum instead of carbon fiber and will borrow design elements from both 2012 Ferrari FF and the Ferrari California. The uplift from 599 includes, modified bumpers and new headlamps, a modified bonnet, and a new exhaust system with tips that sit higher than on the Fiorano.
Cosmetic uplift was just for the beginners, the new F620 GT is for the fans of true sportscar. The new GT will be housing a 6.3-litre V12 engine that will deliver over 710 hp. With this output, the GT will be more powerful than both the 599 with 620 hp and the current FF with 660 hp, but more importantly, it will beat out the Lamborghini Aventador developing 700 hp with a 6.5-litre V12 engine. The engine will send its power to the rear wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission with an F1 style electronic differential.
Talking of the acceleration, the GT does 0-100kmph in three seconds flat, and 0-200kmph in just 8.4secs, that is 0.4 seconds faster than the Aventador. And in world of fast cars, that difference is a lightyear. The top speed of the F620 GT is expected to beat 340kmph.
