Fiat opened its new showroom in South Mumbai, Esskay Motors, on February 20, 2014. It is located at Prabhadevi, and is spawned in an area of 8,500 square feet with display space of four cars. A state of art workshop worth 18,000 square feet, which shall be operational in a months time was also mentioned to talk about at the Esskay Motors.
Nagesh Basavanhalli, President and MD of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles India Operations and C. K. Parkash, Chairman and MD, Esskay Motors inaugurated the showroom.
2013 Fiat Punto, the newly launched 2014 Fiat Linea facelift, concept car Fiat Avventura, and the most adored Fiat 500 Abarth were kept on display, and they will be there on the window to gallop passersby till March 23, 2014.
However, the Fiat Avventura is slated to be launched in August 2014, while the Fiat 500 is about to make debut later this year.
Speaking on the occasion, Nagesh Basavanhalli said, “FIAT India views Mumbai as a very strategic market and the inauguration of an exclusive dealership is in accordance with our strategy to capitalise on this potential. We are confident that our association with Esskay Motors will play a crucial role in identifying the customer base and enhancing customer experience in Mumbai. Fiat has brought these cars to the city for an exclusive viewing, on demand of its fans and customers here.”

Since the split after Tata Motors, Fiat has opened 105 showrooms in India, and has slotted a target of 150 showrooms by the end of 2014. In terms of service and customer satisfaction, Fiat India has mentioned to stock a good stock of spare parts. It seems, the Italian carmaker is keen to take up the challenge of the world’s youngest ‘Indian market’, and had also laid plans of rolling out the upmarket brand ‘Jeep’ in market soon, with no dates confirmed yet.
