This all new small car, Mitsubishi Colt in India is expected to be launched by the mid 2011. This car will be priced somewhere between Rs. 7 lakhs to Rs. 8 lakhs. Mitsubishi will first launch the five door version followed by the three door version. The company will have a tough time in the market, as their new car will pose as a direct competition to the Maruti Suzuki Ritz, Hyundai i20, Ford Figo and Nissan Micra. This car is very intelligently as well as delicately designed. The car holds very fine curves and sharp lines in the front but the rear looks more feminine as it is much smoother compared to the front. There are many comfort features added in this car like central locking, tinted windows, rake adjustment for the steering wheel, electrically operated outside rear view mirror, automatic rain sensing wipers. The cabin is quite spacious and because of the inside design it looks even more spacious. The boot space available is enough and the 60/40 adjustable rear seat is the cherry on top.

Mitsubishi Colt in India will be available in only a standard engine option. This car will be equipped with the 1.5 litre petrol engine with 4 cylinders. This engine is capable of producing a maximum power of 70 Bhp and a peak torque of 210 Nm at 1800 rpm. This engine is mated with a standard five speed manual transmission. With a maximum speed of 150 kmph, this car is expected to cross the mark of 100kmph in just under 9 seconds. This new hatchback will be equipped with the McPherson strut bar suspension in the front and the torsion bar in the rear. For the safety of the passengers, Mitsubishi Colt in India will be available with a host of safety features like front airbags, antilock braking system, emergency braking system, traction control and fog lights.
